Finally got around to watching this. Didn't really keep track of my score, but I knew a decent number of the songs in the first few rounds. The last couple rounds were almost a total blank for me, though.

I missed out on the first couple of these, so I'll go back and watch the other ones later.

The Before and After round is so fun to make, but of all rounds I feel like this one is going to have a shallow pool to pull from.

Keep in mind if you knew the series and not the actual game you get half points.

I did want to put on the kiddie gloves for the first round at least, the last two were maybe a bit too difficult up front.

I didn't know Lufia had monster friends! I've only seen the series mentioned a few times, and never seen anyone give details about it, didn't know it secretly had one of my favorite things lol

Also I will now pronounce Galuf's name as "Galoof" from now on, it is perfect.

Oh dude it's so good. I believe there are like 6 different types with 5 or so different forms. A lot of fun, though they are AI controlled.

Hard to argue with most of the choices on that list. My personal list would probably have 6-7 of those, though they'd be in a different order.

Love the love for DKC3. That's a great game that always gets overshadowed by DKC2 because it came out so late in the SNES lifespan.

I played some of Lufia 2 on an emulator way back when but I didn't get past that 99 level side quest dungeon. Feels like the type of game I should revisit...if I ever had the time to revisit games...and an actual way to replay them...

Dude yes, absolutely get to the end of Lufia 2 and let it destroy your emotional core.

DKC3 and Kiddy especially get unreasonably shit on, I've never understood why. DKC2 is fantastic though, and if I had a repeat clause it would've definitely made the top 20, along with MMX.

Even if I could put it on there, it wouldn't beat out Chrono Trigger and the whole 1 per series thing. Definitely appreciate the love for Tetris Attack though!

I think it's fine, mostly. Sometimes you just don't catch bugs early enough in development. Or you don't catch them at all. Some bugs only happen sometimes, and it takes time to figure out what causes the bug to occur. Day 1 patches should be super common.

It was fairly long, very prog rock. It was a remix of Corridors of Time, but at a certain point in the song it had dialogue from the NPCs fully voiced as lyrics to the song. I can't find it on the OCRemix Youtube channel and I fear it's gone forever. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Hollow Bastion is so far above all other worlds it's not even remotely debatable.

Wait people play FE without permadeath? Yeah that would honestly make the strategy of the game feel brain dead at that point. The permadeath is what makes those games so intense.

When does online play die?

Regular battle theme always has, and always will, make my ears bleed. I hate it.

So unfortunate for a game with a 9.9/10 soundtrack to have it's biggest stinker be the most often played song.

It's true, though I think I value the guests having a good time over the audience recognizing music, since typically if the guests know it, a good chunk of the audience would. And if the guests aren't involved and having a good time, that would obviously affect the quality of the show as a whole.

About the same, I'd say.

I have a looooooooooot I want to say about this, but don't have the time atm. I'll just say quickly now I disagree that you should avoid "western games". Shovel Knight, Portal, Killer Instinct, Undertale, etc are all western games, and people got those just fine. Might come back to this.

I guess I should stipulate from the AAA space. Those were all fairly niche/indie titles with many memes and a large internet presence. I would've figured of all huge Sony titles, The Last of Us would've been the lay up.

I'll say any time I put in music from a Western developed game (Last of Us, Starcraft, Batman Arkham etc.) I always get crickets. I think I'll be avoiding those in the future.

For those that watched the first one as well, did you find this one easier, harder, or on par with the original? I feel like I need to soften it up even more. And maybe trim the rounds down a bit to fewer guesses per round.

Thanks! I think the face cam adds a LOT to the presentation. And showing the buzzer on screen gives the audience a bit of insider info, since they could NOT see who buzzed in first.

Me reading it consistently needs to happen more often though.

I had both NES Bugs Bunny games as a kid, though I remember playing (and liking) Birthday Blowout more.

Also had Anticipation, because I distinctly remember it being one of the very few games my parents would play with me.

Birthday blowout was also really good, much more of a standard Left to Right platformer IIRC. But I love the puzzle/stealth/survival horror Bunny too much.

There was a lot of other titles I was juggling with, and probably included some more obscure ones to give them more spotlight. Crystalis, Metroid, Contra, TMNT Manhattan Project, Punch Out, etc. NES Library really has a ton to love.
