No problem! I love doing these and yeah, before and after or connect the theme rounds are by far my favorites to make. I need to work on locking down the next set of guests.

XIII has an incredible cast, story, gameplay, and is easily a top tier game.
Baltheir and Fran are the only good things from XII.
IX's gameplay is too slow and basic to ever want to replay.
II isn't nearly as bad as people cry about, it's fantastic.
VIII is dumpster trash.

Great video. While nitpicky stuff like this almost never bothers me, it's always interesting from a comparison perspective. Most of these I would have never even noticed (I've played Prime 1 over 10 times but not in like 8 years) - the thermal visor being the exception. I can't imagine doing the dark areas without it, that's just insane, but I had the same inclination at first. Yeah tone down the blur effects, not sure what they were thinking.

Most of the rest I've seen in other videos like this, but I haven't seen anyone bring up enemy deaths before! Good call. As soon as you showed clips of the original, it awoke memories in me. I'm not sure about that one specifically, but I can only assume most of the beam lighting stuff was because of technical limitations? They put so much work into this remaster otherwise...I can't imagine they overlooked this. All that lighting on top of the new lighting system in the remaster must have bogged down the frame rate and they just couldn't do both simultaneously or something. The new lighting is amazing and so is the 60 FPS, so it's understandable. Still, this is maybe the only nitpick I care about the teensiest amount.

Charge shots: I assumed these charged at the same rate but you just got additional regular shots first. That would have been a good change, but I think I was wrong and it actually slows down the charge time? Bad change then, but still not really something that consciously bugs me.

The final thing, my solution for the beam swap would have been clicking the right stick in before flicking it to change beams. I think it would have worked.

Also I thought of clicking the right stick afterwards too! That would make a lot of sense. Could open a wheel up too, though that might feel weird considering its also used to aim. Still, it controls your arm canon so that would be intuitive.

Or maybe instead of HOLDING X it was a toggle, so in heated battles you could make the Beams default on Dpad, but exploring could have it be Visors. I dunno if this would be much better, but more options are never bad.

Crazy thing about modern technology is that it's always patchable, unlike the previous versions. So who knows, maybe after player feedback we could realistically see these things in the future.

Conclusion:
Power Beam is faster in Wii
Wave Beam is MUCH Faster in Wii
Ice Beam is roughly the same
Plasma Beam is MUCH Faster in Wii
Super Missiles are roughly the same

Still FEELS annoying though. And my findings do sadly prove that against Ridley I was wrong, so I am indeed a bitch.

Wave and Plasma are significantly slower in Remaster though.

Excited to hear how you guys do. Video itself kinda flopped after the momentum I had probably because I was too slow to get it out there, but scheduling with 4 people is difficult.

The most jarring things for me by far were the charge beam and Thermal Visor. I've mastered the art of only ever using it when absolutely necessary though.

I just beat it a third time. On OLED it's beautiful.

Thanks to everyone who played, this one was obviously much more difficult than rounds prior since it was the championship round. I'm incredibly happy about how close it ended up being.

I really love Ripsaw Rage and Krack Shot Croc, but my favorite of all time is in Tropical Freeze, Grassland Groove. That level TRANSCENDED me.

The worst level for me in the entire trilogy is in DKC2. I don't recall the name off the top of my head, but it's the upwards wind physics one where you need to bop up and down between zingers who are stationary and it is the WORST.

Hey nice! Been liking PE so far but man it's incredible hard to determine which "objects" in any given room are intractable if it's not a chest or blinking item.

I don't think I will, but the thought crossed my mind at one point. I like the heavy characters, I think the theming/cohesion isn't as strong as the other two, and I absolutely hate every single Wind level.

But like...yeah it's still probably better than DKC1. The bonus rooms are so damn good.

All 3 are S tier but I definitely love DKC3 the most. I've never heard it be called a glitchy mess though, that's new.

D4 is fantastic and I'm in no way competing with them. I don't have anything even remotely close to talk about that's as interesting. I ain't trying to do anything new really, just gush about games I love, shit on one's I don't, do trivia, and make fun top tens. Also throw in a sex joke every so often for a groan.

Oh dear God I'm getting so sick of the sob stories and flash backs.

Don't get me wrong, I love seeing the contestants humanity and what makes them who they are. But I'd rather see it and hear about it as they're telling EACH OTHER. Show us the moments of them bonding about their past and history in real time! Cutting away to these pictures and stuff just kills the pacing and the more that get shown the less and less I care about the next.

It almost feels like the casting is done now based on whose got the most traumatic story to tell. It's exhausting. I'd rather see the tribes bond with each other over this stuff, not spoon fed it in a confessional.
