Sting comes out and calls some audibles in the the title tournament. Despite Hogan's "getting the scoops" last week he found Bischoff more entertaining, so he's going to have to fight for his career tonight, taking Jeff Hardy's spot in the tournament! Mickie is injured, so Madison Rayne will replace-- Madison is happy to do it to help legitimize the knockout's division that has been ignored as of late since Sting's reign as boss! (75)

Madison Rayne d. Eric Young to advance. Eric tries to give her the TV title cause she beat him, but she shoos him away (52)

Sting has a social experiment-- Immortal and Fortune are locked in their dressing rooms. The first locker room to beat the hell out of Eric Bischoff or AJ Styles respectively will be in line for the first title shots when the tournament finishes! (70) Beer Money looks at each other, says Fortune is as good as dead already with Kazarian MIA and Daniels turning away, almost immediately beats the hell out of AJ Styles (58) (Beer Money's heel turn is a complete success)

Anderson d. Daffney to advance. He goes easy on her at first, telling her to lay down, but she starts going ballistic on him he eventually has to nail her with a mic check (70)

Sting's not satisfied with Taz's work, and replaces Taz with Eric Bischoff and... Tony Schiavone! Tony says that this is the GREATEST night in the HISTORY of TNA (82) Austin Aries excuses Anderson from a match today, since Daffney obviously wore him out. Anderson insists on a match but Aries waves him off (66) Glacier draws Crimson as they are both counted out, eliminating both. During Glacier's intro Gail Kim is standing in the snow of his entrance, looking very sad. She does the same thing during the match, for no real reason. (68)

A battered Styles gets Brian Kendrick to help him, and Kendrick appeals to Sting's attunement to the Ring of the Void, saying the Tao would dictate they get a tag match with Beer Money-- Sting doesn't know what he's talking about but gives it to em (76) Love and Winter d. Tara and Tessmacher for the Knockouts Tag Titles (53) Winter needs MORE POWER, and challenges Mickie for the Knockouts Title at Turning Point to unify them. The injured Mickie accepts! (52)

Beer Money d. AJ Styles and Brian Kendrick to retain (66)

Hogan's waiting in the ring for Kid Kash. Kid Kash doesn't show up... instead... Jeff Hardy?!?! Hogan is shouting "I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD" as Jeff Hardy squashes him. (70) After the match, Hardy completely dismantles Hogan leaving him a bloody mess, explains how he was a sinner and tells the audience how Jeff Hardy is the lord Jesus Christ and died for the sins of TNA, but it is now his second coming. An awkward silence/mixed reaction follows as Hardy leaves. (72)

Bully Ray says he likes what Devon's done with himself lately, he might just be "getting it." If Devon helps Bully out, he'll help Devon get revenge on that Pope. Devon accepts, stopping at nothing to avenge the bruised knees of his boys! (77)

-Laurinaitis starts the show announcing that tonight we will have a 10-MAN BATTLE ROYAL to determine the new #1 Contender! Cody interrupts him. Cody questions why the World Title is treated with such respect, yet as the IC Champ he is stuck having to provoke jokes like Ryder into matches. Cody wants a #1 Contender match for HIS belt! Laurinitis ponders this, and eventually agrees. It'll happen right now, so good thing people are on standby.

Chavo is cocky all throughout the match, and not without reason, as he's able to stay one step ahead of his opponent for the most part. It comes back to bite him, however, when he taunts just a liiiiittle too long before the Frog Splash and eats knees. Yoshi rolls him up with a small package, and steals the win!

-#1 Contender BATTLE ROYAL: Show v. Carlito v. Christian v. Bryan v. Orton v. Truth v. Sheamus v. Miz v. Barrett v. Ryder
Everybody keeps their distance as the bell rings, until Miz and Truth point out that Show is...well, Show. Sheamus rushes to dissuade everybody from ganging up on his new bro, but gets waylaid by Christian. The remaining 7 dudes gang up on Show to get the traditonal "eliminating the big guy" spot out of the way early. Sheamus and Christian brawl back and forth, and Sheamus goes for the Brogue Kick...but Christian slips it and the blow hits Ryder instead. Ryder rolls out of the ring. Carlito goes after Orton, and quickly gets an RKO and an elimination. Bryan and Barrett are going at it, and Bryan has the upper hand until Awesome Truth make the save. AmDrag is triple-teamed and eliminated, to the delight of Barrett. Barrett gloats too soon, though, as Miz and Truth dump him out right afterwards.

Awesome Truth go after Orton next, and Sheamus eventually knocks Christian over the top. Orton and Sheamus decide to team up against Awesome Truth, but it goes poorly. Truth slips an RKO and is able to bundle Orton over the top while Miz contends with Sheamus. Sheamus fights valiantly against the team, and manages to eliminate Miz!....but Truth immediately seizes the opening with a suicide lariat! Both men go over, but Truth skins the cat and regains his footing on the apron.

But Ryder remains.

A groggy Ryder climbs back in the ring, and both he and Truth realize the situation at the same time: with Truth already going over the top, all Ryder needs to do to win is knock him off the apron! Truth tries to get back in the ring, but Ryder moves to cut him off every time. He grins and does the LI taunt, looking for a tackle...but Miz cracks a chair over his back! It's no-DQ, but still! Truth's able to get back in the ring and finish the deal, thanks to his nefarious partner!

-The shady finish immediately brings out Laurinitis. He says that such an underhanded tactic....is quite resourceful of Awesome Truth! He commends their team spirit and exploitation of the no-DQ stip of battle royals, and is glad that they have another chance at the title! Ryder pops back up for an ARE YOU SERIOUS BRO.

-DONNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGG. Taker-ish effects start to happen, and Truth FLIPS OUT. He's the new #1 Contender, but does Taker have unfinished business with him?

-Geesh, SD's roster really isn't deep at all currently, and the battle royal really highlighted that. Might be bringing Finlay and Sid back up after all. You know it's bad when I book TWO diva matches on a main card. And it's not like the ME was particularly helped by having 10 solid guys instead of 2-4, anyway. Blah.

-Chavo. SO GOOD.

-Laurinitis. SO BAD.

-Sadly, I could only get Tajiri on a short-term contract, or he'd be getting an awesome midcard push by now. He's with Raven in the "man wish it was worth it to push them or they came in higher up the card" pile.

-I keep forgetting how good Christian is on the mic. I need to not do that.

-Do I have particular plans for SDR and Gail? Nooooope.

Mix of pretty tricky and pretty easy. Everybody understandably whiffed the Chavo match and had more obvious choices than Truth for the Battle Royal. Bonus went okay for several people though, and the rest of the show was pretty easy. eddv slips a bit, but numbers is right there to take his place in the first place tie, and there's a big pack right on their heels.

Mr. Anderson d. Madison Rayne to advance (73) It's North Carolina, RVD is in the ring, before he says much Ric Flair comes out and makes a challenge for ONE MORE MATCH in FLAIR COUNTRY. Flair looks like a man possessed, and suggests it be a ladder match, much to everyone's confusion... perhaps someone put him up to it..!?!? RVD accepts but doesn't look happy about it. (65)

Beer Money is in the ring. They talk about how being wealthy and being able to hold your alcohol are the keys to power, their team is built on survival of the fittest-- that's why they beat AJ Styles down last week and officially ended Fortune. Motor City Machine Guns come out and interrupt... Shelley says they're going to save the tag division with some GREAT MATCHES like last year, and Chris Sabin demands Beer Money FIGHT WITH HONOR, getting a weird look from all parties. (57) Beer Money d. MCMG by cheating. Sabin shouts things about HONORRRR after the match while Shelley facepalms. (74)

Austin Aries cuts a promo on Sting, how he's going to show why he's the best damn athlete in TNA today and why he's the only singles title holder in TNA worth a damn at the moment. (75) Bully Ray d. Suicide to advance (82)

Eric Young feels dissed, he has a title too! He issues an open challenge... Jeff Hardy comes to the ring and starts to drone off psalms or some crap to the audience, ignoring Eric Young-- Eric Young tells the ref to ring the bell and attacks him! Unfortunately, Eric doesn't stand a chance-- Jeff Hardy d. Eric Young. (71) Young tries to give Hardy the TV title, but Hardy walks away completely disregarding him. Eric Young gets mad, yells at the TV title, and discards it in the ring and spits on it. The camera zooms in on the discarded now homeless TV Title and the audience goes D'awwwww, feeling bad for the poor title. :( They boo Eric Young! (47) (Eric Young's heel turn is a success!)

Crimson comes to the ring, and shows a Crimson promo video where he challenges Glacier to a falls count anywhere match at Turning Point to prevent being counted out again. Glacier somehow has an acceptance video already prepared, saying he already knew that cheap imitation was coming, and he accepts! Crimson is livid until he realizes Glacier accepted. (51) Bully Ray and Devon chase the hyperactive Pope backstage. They eventually surround him and beat him down, but Pope seems to be fed by it (83)

RVD d. Ric Flair in a ladder match, dominating the whole time. After the match, Flair lays beaten at ringside, and is enveloped in cross the line caution tape and dragged under the ring! (76) A vignette showing BG James and Kip James at a golf course, sinking a hole in one-- Ink, Inc randomly shows up and vandalizes their golf cart! BG and Kip say it may not be time to retire yet and shake their newspapers at the hooligans. (48)

Joe and Angle are in the audience again-- Sting has security throw them out saying only he can beat up announcers for no reason. Kurt and Joe shout that they were playing nice-- he'll regret this! (87) Sting vs. Austin Aries. Aries is out to prove he is what he is just what he says he is, and scores several near falls on Sting, but just can't quite keep the insane icon down. Sting's experience edge comes into play when he catapults Aries into the exposed turnbuckle into a scorpion deathdrop. Sting d. Aries to advance. (96...!!)

-HHH opens the show by calling Punk to the ring. He confronts Punk, telling him his behavior is unacceptable. He knows what Punk's trying to do, bringing in the Kliq to butter up HHH, but it won't work. HHH won't let him run Raw with his anarchy, and especially if he can't think of a better vehicle than a stable from the 90's. Punk expresses regret that they were unable to come to a peaceful solution, and simply leaves. HHH calls after him that the nWo have an 8-man tag match against Cena and three partners of his choice, but Punk doesn't seem to care. Punk grins right before he steps backstage.

-Match: Dreamer v. Swagger
A solid back and forth match saw Dreamer prevail in the end.

-Swagger is pretty upset with this outcome. He calls on Vickie and Ziggler at ringside, and they get revenge on the ECW legend!

TRISH STRATUS is here! She and Melissa hi-five and proceed to wreck the Twins.

-Beth comes out to sneer at Trish. Trish says she's mainly here in a mentor role for Melissa and won't bother taking the Divas' Title, which I think is actually on Nattie anyway now that I think about it. I keep forgetting which of them I gave it to. >_> Anyway, Trish is going to train her good buddy Melissa. Beth scoffs.

Comedy match where the announcers spend most of their time putting over the "Hurritino" name. Santino and Hurricane get the win.

-Slater is out to the ring. He mentions the one-upmanship feud he has going with Gabriel, and he's sure he's got it this time! They both got to pick partners for their match, and Slater picked McIntyre! We're not sure why this makes Slater more confident but apparently it does.

Well, it's not like either one got a particularly impressive partner. Slater and Drew actually wind up winning.

-We see Del Rio backstage with Reks and Hawkins, and he is apparently trying to put a bounty on Kane's head again. Air Boom show up, and says that sounds like BULLYING. Maybe they'll even up the odds a bit! Bourne interjects "BE A STAR!" and everybody just kinda stands awkwardly until we go to commercial.

-Match: Kelly v. Serena
The nWo diva looks strong with a big win.

-Sounds of a struggle are coming from backstage! We cut to HHH's office and join a beatdown in progress! HHH is caught in the Masterlock while X-Pac kicks him! HHH looks badly beaten already, but then takes a GTS...and a Jacknife onto his desk! Punk steals the camera and zooms in on the unconscious CoO as his cronies spraypaint the nWo logo on him.

-Match: Kane/Air Boom v. Del Rio/Reks/Hawkins
Kane doesn't seem too excited about his partners, but that doesn't stop them from putting some boots to asses. The heels hold their own for a while, but Del Rio bails after a hot tag to Kane, leaving Reks to take the pin while the tag champs take out Hawkins.

-Cena is in the ring for the ME. He calls out his partners...all of them hungry young men who are making an impact the RIGHT way rather than Punk's way. He introduces, in turn, Morrison, Riley, and Ryan, putting them over like the second coming of Jericho.

-Match: Cena/Morrison/Riley/Ryan v. Punk/Nash/Masters/X-Pac
The nWo are on a roll tonight, but Cena and Morrison quickly bring that to a halt. Riley and Ryan are obviously punching above their weight, though, so it becomes a back and forth match. Cena gets a hot tag, but accidentally takes out the ref while cleaning house! Punk is able to waffle Cena with a chair and turn the tables, and he winds up getting the win once the ref comes to.

Post-show: Cena wants a fair rematch, Punk has proved his point and can't be bothered to fight himself (100); Cena/Morrison d. Nash/X-Pac (66)

FROM THE BOOKERMAN:

-I would like to point out that the main event with A-Ry, Mason Ryan, Nash, and X-Pac was described as having "great action" so I will harbor no complaints about it. :P

-I glanced at X-Pac and Masters when picking them for the dark match, and their momentum was through the ROOF going into tonight. It's good main event momentum, let alone midcard/lower mid.

-Pretty impressed with the Slater match. He and Drew seem to have good chemistry, although it only showed up on the dirt sheet for whatever reason. Debating a tag push at some point.

Easyish show for most, but eddv and GTM, I dunno. Only numbers took Dreamer, and I think there was only one hit on the bonus. It's kinda like when Taker was finally the answer- I expected everybody to get it right, which is why I only made it worth a point. >_> The big news is numbers taking sole possession of the lead, but the pack was still jostled around a bit. Still very much anybody's game, just some of you have some hefty work ahead of you.
