I also downloaded Doki Doki Lit Club just now even though I kinda have an idea what it is. Hopefully I'll get around to playing it soon, but Persona 5 might be the only text-based game my brain can handle for a while.

I don't think I have a single game on my PC right now. I probably still have a bunch of my old CD-ROMs somewhere but I'm not sure where. Minecraft is probably the only PC game I've played extensively for the past 5 or so years. I'm so lame.

I have this big honkin' desktop and I don't even PC game. Seems kind of silly now that I think about it. I just like the dual monitor and external keyboard/mouse setup. You can do that with a laptop, but it looks weird on your desk. But the main reason I didn't get a laptop is because that's what my previous computer was and it didn't last very long so I was feeling pretty down on laptops.

You can tell I only ever play indies on PC because one of the keywords they use to recommend games to me is "female protagonist"

Real quick before the Persona chat is discarded who are you planning to woo? I freaked out about not getting to max love with any girls before the game ended so I went with Ann to be safe and kind of regretted it. Then of course I easily reached 10 with a bunch of other girls anyway like Makoto who I would have preferred

You can do that but the game warns you that there might be a problem if you do and I would never have the courage to take that risk

What moves do you want to see your baseball teams make?

The Giants need two starting pitchers and two outfielders, and it looks like they're only concerned with the outfield.

I'm hearing Ellsbury wants to be traded to the Giants, but he's getting old and making waaay too much money. The Giants think Jay Bruce would be a good fit but I don't see it. He's a HR hitter with low average which will end up being long outs at AT&T. Getting Jackie Bradley Jr. would be a nice defensive upgrade, but I don't see how the Giants have enough prospects to get a guy on a cheap contract without trading starting players.

I'm not really sure who they should get. Whatever happens, the pitching will suck and the Dodgers will win the division for the next 5 years anyway.

The Cardinals should be good this year... Good enough to probably be a favorite for one of the wildcards and a contender for the division. But I still want to see more moves.

My #1 thing would be getting either Machado or Donaldson. Either one would be great. I almost expect Donaldson to be better next year but Machado has really fucking good projections so idk. The Cards make more sense than any other team for those two so they should definitely get one.

Probably their #1 biggest need is the bullpen though. The rotation is a bunch of decent to good pitchers with some upside but the bullpen looks bad. Wade Davis scares me a little but they should get one of the bigger names out there. I like Greg Holland as a cheaper alternative though I know he fell apart down the stretch. I'm willing to chalk that up to Coors Field and general recovery problems though.

Either of those guys would be a big upgrade to Gyorko. I'm looking at the list of FA relief pitchers and I don't see anything that gets me excited but I agree that Holland is a solid piece on any team that needs help right now. I also wouldn't mind Addison Reed since he's younger than the rest of the guys.

Yeah, Reed is a good under the radar guy too. He only throws like 92 so people don't notice him, but the results are almost always good.

I like Reed more than Holland. I also still think the Cards might trade for Colome who I'm pretty lukewarm on but he's not bad. I thought we were gonna get Longo as part of the Colome trade but really I want to get Archer from them. Sadly I don't think they're going to move him.

As my brother said we need bullpen help the most. A big bat would be enough to put us, I think, right on par with Chicago but as we stand right now the team looks solidly above average in a league where 86 wins could definitely get a wild card. I definitely believe the Cards will get one of those wild cards because they only have to beat the Giants, the Brewers, and the Rockies to do so. Maybe the Pirates could get in the mix, I don't know. Out of those teams the Brewers kind of scare me the most because they're not as good as the other two on paper but they're a team clearly on the rise.

The big bat should probably be Donaldson. I like Manny too but the reports of the asking price are just ridiculous. They want Luke Weaver, Carson Kelly, and Jack Flaherty just to get things started. Aka our best young pitcher, our post-Molina catcher, and a top 40 prospect pitcher. For one year that's just too much. Donaldson will cost a lot too because the Jays don't need to move him as bad as I think the O's need to move Machado but the O's seem to (hilariously) think they can compete this year. I also trust Donaldson to wreck 2018 more than Machado.

I'd like a little rotation help but it's probably not that necessary. There's a nice mix of talent and reliability in the rotation as it stands. We just really need a strong bullpen to finish games with so many young guys and even the veterans Wacha and wainwright who for different reasons have trouble going deep into games. Really the only must is a stronger bullpen at this point since the Ozuna move made our position player contingent a lot stronger.

Well, Doki Doki Literature Club is a trip. I don't think there's anything out there quite like it. It's a few hours long and free on Steam, highly recommended.

Rocket League is fun as fuck

I've been saying this to all my friends that will listen. Some of them played for a little bit and never learned how to control their car properly, so they basically just drove around doing nothing but chasing the ball which I don't think was too fun for them, and they quit. There's also a lot of hidden strategy that I don't think newbies ever get to see.

I'm playing on Switch, of course, so I'm way late to the party, but I'm picking it up fairly well. I don't find the control too bad but I think it is a little hard to find the right camera setting. I still don't really know what do to when the ball gets really high up and I can't see my car. I probably don't know what strategy stuff you're talking about since I tend to fall into the habit of ball-following

The best thing to do when the ball is in the air is to not be under it. That way you can get a better angle while trying to hit. If you find yourself in that bad position, sometimes it's better to get back on defense in case it gets knocked to your goal.

It's too bad that cross-platform is private games or random matches only as of now. I wanna be able to get in a party with my friend and then do matchmaking. I guess it's still pretty cool that you can do it at all; I think this is the first cross-platform game I've played

I played Street Fighter V with my friend when I was on PS4 and he was on PC. It was just like adding a friend as usual but still really cool that it worked seamlessly. I wonder if and when cross-platform online play will become a standard thing.

Sometimes when I played Rocket League, I would be matched up against PC players. I could tell because they had changeable Steam names, so while us PS4 users are "xXCool_GuyXx", the PC players are things like "Donald Trump"

Talking basketball for a second, I find it funny that the Thunder are asking Carmelo to stop playing iso ball and he's like, "Yeah, I'll accept my new role" when NY Knicks asked him to stop doing that for years and he was like, "nah".

They should be, but Nintendo can only do that because they still use friend codes. The fact that Sony doesn't let people change it is crazy but Microsoft charges you like $5 is which is also stupid.

Wii U didn't use friend codes (I think) but you could make your name whatever

I don't remember how the Wii u worked exactly but you had to make a Nintendo Network ID that would be analogous to a gamertag or whatever and I bet you couldn't change that. Anyway I'm not arguing that they should all offer that I'm just saying the friend code system is forever trash and even on Xbox changing your name is limited by cost.
