Voted for Soren. Not happy that PoR/RD are still going to get screwed over by split votes, but what can you do.

I think Nino legit has an outside shot at getting at getting a Brave variant in the actual CYL honestly. Heroes has done wonders for her popularity. I have trouble seeing anyone but Tharja/Camilla is the #1/#2, but if they expand the number of Brave units...who knows.

As much as I would love to dream, there's a world of difference between top tier popularity characters like Tharja and high tier characters like Nino. I do expect a significant strength jump for Nino, it's just asking for a lot to knock off Tharja or Camilla from that far down. In any case, I'm super interested in seeing how much Nino can rise so I'm throwing all of my votes at her.

Yeah. The top 4 are almost assuredly going to be Hector, Chrom/Ephraim, Tharja, and Camilla, so I'm more interested in the overall character ranking changes than anything else.

My hot predix/wishful thinking is that we see a partial backlash against Fateswakening (especially Fates) and that Tharja, Eirika, Ephraim, and Hector take it.

I would love to see Brave Nino. Though yes she has to combat Team Fanservice that is Tharja/Camilla. At least Nino is seen in arena more than both of those? >_>

Personally I'd love healer Elincia. We already have a powerful sword Elincia which is unlikely to be improved upon, and I'd love a flying healer for flier runs of Tempest Trials and Chain Challenges. (Plus more Elincia = a chance for her to actually get some good art...)

I dunno why there would be a Fates/Awakening backlash, the people who dislike those games already weren't voting for them the first time.

Hoping that Chrom/Tharja/Camilla can all hold on to their spots, as they're three characters I like quite a bit. Would love to see someone else come and take Hector's spot though, but I'm not sure what male character would actually be popular enough. Especially since Hector will probably benefit from Blazing Sword fan votes being freed up by no Lyn (or Roy to a lesser extent). I feel like the top four will stay the same from CYL1's "next four" unless there's a major rally for someone.

I think the Fates/Awakening event variant fatigue may actually have started to reach people who like Fates/Awakening. Keep in mind that fans of those games may also be fans of other FE games and may wish to see characters from those games also get an event variant and not just Fates/Awakening characters. That's sort of how I feel at least.

I have a hard time seeing Hector fall out of first place Male side. He was 3rd place Male side last time and I feel like the voter shift is actually in his favour. The voter pool should be more biased towards people who play FEH compared to last time where it was more towards FE fans in general. I feel like that will actually help Hector and hurt his nearest competition of Chrom and Marth. Combined Marth would be a bit more threatening but not split Marth. Furthermore, two characters need to beat Hector to take him out since the top two get an event variant.

I'd be totally happy with Hector winning as he deserves it. Camilla shouldn't even be allowed on the poll because she already got two seasonal variants. It doesn't even make sense she stole Hinoka's place on the NY banner.

Not to mention she's probably getting a Summer variant if they make new units of that banner.

For what is is worth, Nino was the third most popular character for Summoner Supports behind Lyn and Lucina. Nino really should be quite popular among FEH fans. However, Camilla and Tharja were 5th and 7th among Summoner Supports with female characters. Neither unit is super great so they got there based on sheer popularity. It really will take a miracle to beat them.

Long answer: It's not really that much worse than the rest of Fates, but the rest of Fates is also "that bad".

Conquest was perfectly fine though I didn't much care for the cast as a whole. Map design was definitely much better than Awakening's at least. Not as much with Birthright but.

The only two Fire Emblems I've dropped in the middle are Binding Blade and Birthright... though because I dropped Birthright I never got around to playing Conquest or Revelations.

According to the statz, whoever started with the Original or Shadow Dragon went on to play the most Fire Emblem games. I guess you had to really, really like the formula if you kept going after those...!

Probably more that if you started with the original you're probably more open to emulating. I'd love to play Thracia 776 or whatever but don't care enough to emulate it.

Granted I've played FE6 but kind of a weird situation there as to why I've played it.

I'd guess that more people started with Shadow Dragon than the original. I'd check the numbers for the emulated games but they were the gateway drug for so few people that you can't make proper stats out of them. 10 people started with Binding Blade.

Mystery also contains a remake of the original and then its own story as the sequel. that's what i played first, before Shadow Dragon came out.

there might be a brief summary, can't really remember. a lot of things end up being repeated in NM, so i wouldn't say it's necessary, but i would still recommend Shadow Dragon. it's lacking the flavor of supports, but i love the gameplay, especially the infinite re-classing.

It does not. New Mystery only covers Book 2 of FE3 and FE3 Book 1 was the remake of FE1.

I'm looking at how starting with a certain game in the series affects your perception of the rest of the series. Biggest standout trend is that people who started with Blazing Blade are not only really harsh on other games, but they love Blazing Blade WAY more than people who started with other games.

wow, i want everyone. i think that's a first. all look great, especially L'Arachel, and i love that she got her "peerless beauty" line (i really hope that's her actual title). though she kinda seems like the worst unit on the banner. i wonder if there's a chance she demotes? i guess if one of the three on the current banner demotes it greatly increases the likelihood.

will this convince you to try an emulator again, TRE?

According to the event calendar, this new banner will be from 1/24 til 2/8

The legendary hero banner will be out before this expires, so that gives us some time to decide which banner we want to spend orbs on.

I assume the CYL2 banner will be on 2/8, and that will last a month. The other banner is just a movement skill banner which seems less appealing(Unless Amelia is there on a boosted chance but...).

137 orbs currently. I don't know if that will be enough to get what I want. And the wait is going to be torture.
