I know Lopen mentioned he has no trouble with arena defenses, but what about the rest of you? Are you getting defense wins every week? What team do you use? Ive noticed i especially have trouble when im using Anna as bonus, and horse cancer isnt doing much for me

Bridal Bloom banner. Ninian should be the priority, but Tharja and Sanaki are also good

On the account I decided to actually keep I just realized I had gotten Ninian as well so the team I am rocking through story is pretty stacked. Lyn, Myrrh, Ninian and 4* Soliel.

Soleil is also really strong if she becomes a 5* (and is good even as a 4*) so yeah, that's a good team.

Have fun blasting through all the content that was a nightmare to get through when the game released because you had half the stamina you do now and twice the stamina costs (at least) for everything.

Yeah you had max 50 stamina, way less stamina potions to go around, and some of the tough story missions cost 25 Stamina. It was lunacy. For all the complaints the game gets sometimes, the quality of life changes over time have been huge.

OK, I thought it was just me having such bad luck with defenses, and i really wonder why its getting so difficult to get them. The buffs bonus units get is certainly a factor, but there has to be more

I think it's mostly players getting a little wiser, both as time goes by as well as higher up in tier. They're more likely to know what to expect going in as well as how to deal with it.

Running defence teams of mono-colour or Reinhardt/BowLyn/Dancer cheese are often touted as the tried and tested methods, but I still think the best way to get someone to rage surrender is by using Wings of Mercy/Warp Powder etc. to get surprise TP kills and ruining someone's perfect run.

I'm still not sure where I'm at when it comes to defense wins.

Last two weeks I was getting def wins just fine, only to suddenly go through a drought today. Had to beg for wins with a lone Male Kana(Two Japanese players were kind enough to help me out).

Got 9 defense wins this week for everyone keeping score at home. Matthew Serra Tharja Robin. I wonder if point range has a lot to do with it as I'm often running teams of 2 +10s, bonus, and a middling + which is probably an interesting range to fall into. I'm definitely gonna keep an eye on this going forward

i usually get exactly one defense per week. that's what i have now. i did have one week recently where i didn't get one. it was the last week before they added in bonus stats for bonus units, which i think was two weeks ago?

How do I raise a heroes star level?

Unlock Potential

It takes 2000 Feathers to bump a 3* up to a 4* and 20,000 for 4* to 5*.

That hero needs to be at least level 20(Though it's recommended you wait until level 40 in most cases).

After that, go to the Allies tab. Select "Advanced Growth", then "Unlock Potential". Select the unit you want to promote. There should be a confirmation screen showing how many feathers you need(and great badges, but those are easy enough to get).

For the record, here are the feathers needed to promote a unit.

1* > 2* = 20

2* > 3* = 200(I think?)

3* > 4* = 2000

4* > 5* = 20000

Though you can only get 1* or 2* from certain daily hero maps(Special tab, right at the bottom). You summon 3*-5*

Not exactly. If you plan to actually use the character, it can be worth it to get them to Lv40 for more SP before promoting them to a higher star level. If you are just promoting the character so you can take their high star skills via Skill Inheritance, feel free to promote them as soon as you can. SP is not nearly as hard to come by as it used to be so early promotion for units you want to use isn't really that bad an idea. It's just better to get the higher levels for SP.

I almost always just raise to 20 and go. It's so easy to get SP nowadays with blessings and more sources of weapon SP boost skills. Also most things I'm feathering to 5* are merge projects and each merge gives +120 SP as well as keeping the skills learned, so with some foresight you can do things like get all the B skills off one of the merged copies or whatever so you don't have to spend SP on the main copy to learn them.

If I don't have a boost for their weapon type or an obvious blessing I want to put on them and it's not a merge project then yeah I'll get em to 40, particularly since we get a ton of crystals from TT that I often don't have an immediate use for, but it's often not necessary.

Well keep in mind new accounts are quite unlikely to have any valor skills, and blessings probably shouldn't be used until a few teams are created. Though yes, it's nice that SP is so much easier to get these days. Getting 12-15 max per TT run was hell.

Kinda. What I meant is they're appearing on a lot more units now so getting em isn't difficult-- I've literally never drawn for one and have most of them.

Though yeah I guess just through pure lack of draws made it would be fairly unlikely for a newer account to get em. But the odds of em being drawn isn't too low anymore they're not all season locked.

Every Valor skills except Sword Valor is available on a single seasonal 5* unit each. Sword Valor is on three non-seasonal 5* only units. Some of those units may be on the upcoming Legendary banner but right now a new account can't get them at all.

Ditch Soleil for Ike or Sigurd. At 5* they're just going to be a lot stronger than her.

Huh. I guess I've just gotten lucky on the hero banners then. Admittedly the only one I was thinking of that was on a non-seasonal was Horse Chrom but I guess seasonals just appear on a lot of hero banners which skews my thought process.

When's the reveal for the next hero banner. Tonight, right?

Probably tonight, but there hasn't been news confirming it. The banner is supposed to start on the 30th.

I would use Sigurd instead of Soliel for now. Inherit Hone Cavalry onto Sigurd from 4* Gunter and inherit Fortify Cavalry from 4* Jagen onto Lyn.

Soleil is very good, but ideally she wants expensive skills like Life and Death 3 that aren't necessarily easy to come by. Ike and Sigurd are both great with just their base skills.

What do people think of the castle exp bonus these days? Is it worth the 26 Orbs to max it out? I know people used to be against it because if it took longer to get to Lv40, you could get more SP along the way. But once again SP isn't as hard to farm as it used to be.

speaking of Gunter, i actually used him in AA today. even with his emerald axe + lancebreaker from a 3* Arthur and hone atk, he couldn't one-round Nephenee, but he got her on the next turn.

definitely not. exp is also much easier to come by. if i were to start a new account now, i'd probably only spend 3 orbs for the +40%.

Sothe can pass it at 4*. Hana also has it but requires an extra 20,000 feathers to promote to 5*.

but you can always use a 4* Hana for life & death 2. that's what i've been doing.

Don't worry about Life And Death so much. There's a lot of good abilities and LnD is just one of them. For now just focus on gathering units.

Fury has much widespread usage over LnD. Only specific units that are meant to be built as glass cannons can take advantage of LnD

Soleil is a glass cannon for sure.

But yeah, there are plenty of good A skills. For Soleil, any of Fury, Life and Death, Swift Sparrow, Darting Blow, or Death Blow will help her perform better at her role. Each has their own ups and downs but I wouldn't stress over getting the perfect one, especially at first.

Ok well I'm not a huge fan of glass cannons anyway, so maybe I will switch her out for Sigmund.

Green is probably the best color for me. I have Azura, but it would be pretty nice to fodder my minus speed one. Don't have the other greens either.

Might be interested in the new red, but I really don't want Tiki, and Sigurd isn't something I really want
