So I went to get into my car this morning and noticed my door wasn't closed all the way, which is weird because I didn't think I'd let that happen.

Turns out I guess my doors were unlocked because someone stole all the change out of my car, and they left the center console open, too, I guess looking for something else worth stealing.

I had forgotten how cool the scene is where Junpei manipulates everyone into going into the #3 door in 999. Dude could be pretty awesome when he wanted to be. I mostly just remembered what you found when you got inside, which is why I wanted to tackle this one first, but I forgot how he managed to get in there in the first place.

Sub ending get in 999! I remember being totally confused about how that ending was even possible, but it makes sense now.

so i decided to go for the platinum in Tales of Symphonia and i was just reminded why i don't usually go out of my way for trophies. this 1 million casino chip trophy was pretty brutal considering you have to rely on luck. spent a good chunk of time just pressing the same three damn buttons over and over again but i got it today and i'm never playing slots again!

i still have to do one more playthrough and get 100% of all treasure chests but the only other thing that potentially stands in my way is the Red Light, Green Light game. i legitimately have no idea how hard I'd find it since i haven't played it for years (because why would anyone want to play it) and they took out the exploit you could use in the old version. i will be considerably upset if i can't beat that game and that is what prevents me from getting the platinum.

although i will also cry if later on i find out that i missed a treasure chest and it's in an area that becomes inaccessible later on in the game.

Persona 5 episode 25 complete

I feel like that was easily the best episode thus far. I liked them switching back and forth between the Palace and Joker showing how he acquired his newfound skills by spending time with his Confidants, which I feel like they should've been doing all along.

Also, I was bummed they teased Life Will Change, but then they kinda made up for it by having a unique song for the boss, which was really well done. It was cool seeing them actually work together to win, with Makoto taking the lead as she should have here.

and that was quite the tease at the very end of the episode which makes me think they're about to take things in perhaps a different direction

Umineko episode 1 beated.

I was generally appreciative of what episode 1 was going for anyways the first time I tried to read this, but I do think I enjoyed that more this time around. In particular I had a much more positive reaction to the episode 1 Tea Party and the introduction of Beatrice and Bernkastel, so I think that's at least a good sign for how I'll react to certain aspects of the story that turned me off the first time.

I do still have problems though with the obsession this VN has with running itself in logical circles just for the sake of it.

Yeah I mean to be fair it wasn't actually enough of a factor to bother me in this episode. It was more like there were one or two scenes that reminded me of what was to come later in the VN.

I generally think that I'm good at focusing on aspects of stories that I like in cases where I like some things but not others, and I'm hoping that will be able to carry me through here. I do really enjoy the portions of Umineko that I'm labeling as "aspects that I like".

Well, I'm kind of afraid that the parts you have a problem with will sour the rest of the experience for you. It ended up doing that for a lot of fans by the end.

I need to re-read Umineko to reestablish what I think of it one of these days.

It's definitely possible--I mean it literally already happened once. I didn't stop reading Umineko the first time just because I got bored or something.

I do know more or less what I'm getting into here. I'm trying again because I want to give it another chance when I'm approaching the story with a slightly different mindset. And I mean worst case I just end up dropping it partway through again.

Nah, I'm not worried. Kiseki is still Falcom's flagship series AFAIK. It passed Ys, IIRC, and I don't think that's changed. Even if it did Falcom isn't gonna just kill the series.

I am an extremely thorough and meticulous explorer and spent a ton of time trying to stealth into areas I had no business being in. I'd make complete runs of all the NPCs any time I felt there'd be any text updates and I am just the slowest player I know.

And admittedly some of that playtime isn't "real" like I got up to get a snack or something.
