Why are people pulling on the LMR lucky draw? Seems like a horrible trap to me... way too many that are bad, or for bad characters, or for good characters I can't use because I don't have anything else for them.

Legend Materia is rarely power creeped plus more realm coverage in general for torments.

To be honest it was kinda a crapshoot for me personally hoping to get Seymour or Strago's LM but I got pretty good stuff regardless (well not Cecedore's LM, that sucks.)

I think it's a trap if you do the dream selects for Legend Materia. You should be able to grab most the high priority ones between those and normal draws

If not I dunno there's a decent amount of good stuff in there.

I tried Quetzalcoatl and geez, that is one ridiculous fight. I felt pretty well prepared going in with Galuf's chain, Dorgann's USB, Tifa with Glint/BSB/OSB/ASB, and Edge with SSB and ninja abilities.But I was barely making a dent. The one thing I definitely do need is more +earth armors... only have 2 of them (and I need another +earth weapon that Edge can use). I dunno. Stone Press might help some but it doesn't really seem like enough. Maybe if I had Aerith's or Elarra's USB.

I got Behemoth King down to about 60% with a thrown-together team, but I doubt that I can get the clear just yet. I have some good relics (Elarra USB, Maria USB+BSB, OK mUSB), but without the chain and another solid DPS I'm gonna hold off any real attempts.

I'm gonna hold off on FF2's RoP, since they only things I want is Maria's USB and Minwu's ability double and with my no disco bad luck streak I'm not feeling confident in it. Maria's USB is on banner 1 anyway.

Not gonna attempt the 5* magicite for a while, I tried to prepare for Quetzalcoatl by chasing Elarra's USB, Galuf's chain and Bartz' AOSB but I didn't get them. Which sucks since I have Bartz USB 1/2 and glint, both Galuf's LMR, Orlandeau's USB and Dorgann's USB, pretty much all the DPS I need but with no chain that means diddly squat against a boss with Shinryu Celestia defense stats.

Okay I tried again and did more than half against Quetzalcoatl (probably around 60% ish). That was with Tifa's OSB to break out of Rage mode, so maybe with Stone Press it will be doable since I can use Tifa's bar on better stuff like her ASB). I do have a problem with needing 2 ability slots for heavy abilities though since right now Galuf is carrying Shellga, I'm not sure what I'm going to do about that.

Not going to bother with Behemoth King until banner 1, it doesn't seem like there's a point. I do have Maria's USB but that's basically it. Rinoa's Brave would help a lot, so would Red's chain.

The main thing about the Realms on Parade is that the average quality is low but the price and volume more than makes up for it. In the first one my luck was terrible until the very last pull and then I got WoL's chain on the last day. IMO it's worth pulling every day and you hope your luck averages out in the long run.

Anyway, this was a good RoP for me, way better than the other two.

Wind magic is rare, and I like Fujin, but still... meh.

I spent my Sunday killing lots of Behemoth Kings. Best time was 35-something seconds.

Party:
Edge SSB - Stitch, Phantasm (Mako)
Shelke - Entrust bot for Edge (Ace Striker)
Maria USB (also has BSB, but not used) - Chain Stoneja, Chain Stonega (Weakness 30%)
Rinoa en-earth SSB+AOSB - Meltdown, Titan (Earth 30%)
Papalymo Leylines SSB - Chain Stonega, Quake (Dr Mog)

Titan on Rinoa and Quake on Papa are because I wasn't going to create a third Chain Stoneja, or hone that second copy higher than r3.

Magicite:
Shell Dragon (with Empower Earth) as main
Midgardsormr with Magic Boon
2 x Hades, 1x Shadowmare, with Quickcast 8, Magic Boon 15, and Quickcast 5.

Strategy:
To start, make sure everyone survives his first AoE with as little health as possible. Without Lightning resist, this means around 7200 HP, so I used Life Waters as necessary on Edge, Maria and Rinoa. Shelke has enough HP to be safe regardless. Papalymo took Lightning resist instead. Since he isn't dived, he was nowhere near the required amount.

For the actual fight, Shelke uses Raider RW, Edge uses Stitch and Phantasm, and doesn't pop his first SSB until after BK's first attack. Papa opens with Leylines for the buff and quickcast.
3 casts of a 6* ability give Rinoa and Maria their first SB, just as BK triggers Last Stand.
Then they spam abilities, and Rinoa makes sure not to use her AOSB until it will kill, or get VERY close (less than 90,000 left, 1 turn of damage by Edge and Maria). You don't want to break his Savage mode.

The attack pattern is basically "Trigger Last Stand -> blinkable attack", rinse and repeat, with the occasional "does nothing" (i.e. heal or self buff) thrown in. So Edge doesn't have too many problems keeping his buffs active.

I did give Behemoth King a couple tries using Galuf's chain but eh... when I tried a traditional party with a healer my DPS was too low, and when I tried using just Shelke/Edge to stay alive I couldn't keep up with the needed SB production for Eblan Doppelganger. Maybe I should just clone the strategy above (I have everything except Rinoa's ASB) but I think I'll do some draws tonight first.

I use a r2 Stitch. R3 would be a bit safer.

That's not really comparable since you pull out of favoritism while I try to keep up with the current meta (except D$$$ Torments fuck that) Using Agrias USB1 as an example was actually the opposite of what happened since that was the grand prize in one of the worst banners we ever seen while I got the worst relics (that were also dupes) on a banner loaded to kill King Behemoth, and the cherry on the shit sundae was wasting $20 worth of gems on Penelo BSB2/11.

Also you were dealing with *3 Magicite at the time, when *5 Magicite are different beast entirely with far less leeway. Their defense stats are borderline chain essential and they have Savage modes or weakness removal along with the physical/magical 1/3 damage divide on top of 1.5 million HP. My earth DPS are all physical but without a chain or Cinque USB getting past the Savage mode on Quetzalcoatl is too much of a roadblock, and while King Behemoth is one of the easier 5* magicite, all I have for earth mages is old bsbs which won't cut the mustard.

This whole fest has just been awful to me, nothing good from 15 RoP draws, one of the worst USBs on the guaranteed lucky draw that's not a dupe, and no actual earth mage relics from the earth mage banner (and Red XIII's LMR doesn't count without his chain, he's no better than Qusitis without it.) I know everyone gets shitty draws now and then but when the best relic from a fest is Sazh's LMR, it pretty reasonable to feel disheartened.

You just need to have some patience in clearing the 5*, but the relics will come.

In theory it should be more true than ever now with the common draws possibly helping out with random puzzle pieces. At an expected rate of somewhere around one per week it should definitely make a difference over time even if there's a lot of garbage in there.

Related I guess we don't get a 33 draw for this fest? Is it later? Or was it ever thought we'd get one? Am I just misremembering things?

Eh not really, I could sub30 all the 4* magicite while they still gave crystals, and I'm at the point I don't really need 4* espers anymore besides double inheritance on dampen fire and holy (which we won't need for a while) Now I can sub 20~ every 4* magicite except Kraken and Hades and it feels like it's time to move on to 5* magicite while you still need to work on building decks. Oh and I can probably beat Hecatoncheir if he was out now since he's apparently the easiest and I make mincemeat of Midgardsormr.

That just proves that you're more stingy, I'm not wasting mythril on stuff like lucky draws, crystal tower or newcomers banner. Almost every banner I've drawn on since the King/Cinque banner was planned to deal with 5* magicite, but I keep missing the key relics I need like Elarra USB, gen2 chains, Rinoa and Bartz AOSB and ANY earth mage gear because I keep getting shitty rainbows instead.

Some wasted draws is reasonable, that's one thing. It's another when you crap out two fests, an entire RoP, the guaranteed USB Lucky twice, and are bored stuck in the dead zone between 4*/280 and 5*/D$$$. Honestly I probably would have quit already if I didn't get Laguna and Strago's chains, at least that's a glimmer of hope for the future.

Oh and I also did the FF2 RoP today and while it was actually a disco it was a dupe, Gordon's USB. Not even a good stat stick, just rubbing salt in the wound.
