I think I've said this before but my middle school shop teacher did security for Bucks games and would let us move down to empty seats near courtside.

AT&T has always been strict about letting people move seats unless you're in the bleachers.

Even in the high up sections, there's people who want to see your ticket as you walk in. I've moved 10 rows closer before at the end of a blowout game and the ticket person came down and told us to move back up to the seats we paid for.

What's the shortest amount of time any of you spent at a job? I think I'm going to quit that dishwashing job at the end of the year, that would make it only a little over two months. I know that sounds like barely anything but it'll take a lot of willpower to make it even that far.

Before that, I had some internship in college that was like three months because it started in February or March of my last semester and then I got a full-time job lined up by the time I graduated. Oh wait, I guess even a summer internship would only be about three months too, so maybe let's not count those

I worked at a Target for like 3 months while I took a year off school. I didn't want to deal with customers so I stocked shelves/did stockroom stuff. The work itself wasn't so bad (listened to a lot of books on tape) but it started at 4am which was terrible. Kind of a shitty thing to do but I just stopped showing up, which I think is pretty common. During "training" they said if you don't show up one day they won't bother calling you. Got a new job a couple days later

I'll probably put in my proper two weeks even though they're probably used to people just not showing up.

And yeah I don't think the work itself is that bad but it's just a lot of volume sometimes when I'm working my whole shift by myself (which is maybe like half the time). It's the same work every day too, gets old fast. Plus I'm usually scheduled four or five days a week but I'd really just like to do like three.

I think no matter what job you have, you have to deal with coworkers who are shitty at their job. At this one it seems like the servers are the most annoying. Like we have three tubs out for forks, knives and spoons but people will put shit in the wrong one or they'll throw big serving spoons and tongs in them. It doesn't sound like a big deal but all the little things like that really add up to drive you crazy over the course of a busy day

Half a day when I was thirteen. I was working in a field picking onions at a farm. Each sack we would fill would get us a quarter. It was way too hot and the sacks too heavy to continue on. So at lunch break I just went home.

They close early evening some days but I just don't work the later shift. That probably was a mistake but oh well. I asked for the morning shift cause I thought it might be smart to get used to getting up early if I get a better job but whenever I quit I'll probably just end up getting back in the habit of staying up/sleeping late. I worked at Menards for like 8 months last year if we're not counting internships. I worked in receiving and liked it fine for the most part but there was a stretch in the middle where a bunch of people quit/were fired at the same time so we were badly understaffed and that was a pretty stressful time.

I wonder if I'd be welcomed back at my old job like that (I guess your situation was different though since you left for school). And I do just mean wonder, as a matter of curiosity, because I don't know if I'd even want to go back. It's just like I get this weird feeling about it because nobody there ever talks to me anymore. Maybe that's normal but I feel like it would be nice to have an old boss check in and see how I'm doing.

I already tried once to get the ball rolling on returning and they said they were in a hiring freeze but who the hell really knows the real reason. Could be different now but I'm not going to bring it up again

I tried to get some Wendy's for lunch today and as soon as I finished paying for my order I noticed some open carry dipshit. I know it might sound silly but I just straight-up walked out at that point. I've seen open carry people before (rarely, thankfully) but this is the first time I just left where I was. I mean we just had another mass shooting in the US (though that's pretty much a phrase that is never inaccurate anymore), it's not worth the $4 of shitty food. And I know that shooting might be the reason he was carrying but fuck you, "good guy with a gun", you aren't helping the problem.

What's wrong with concealed anyway? Not that I'm a fan of that either of course but I'd feel better not knowing when I'm near someone with a gun. I just looked up some stuff on Colorado gun laws after this and they're pretty depressing. As we've talked about, it's pretty much a blue state at this point, but that's a frontier that hasn't really shifted

There were like eight cars in the drive thru which is why I went in. But yeah, I left without the food

Not long ago I was walking around the neighborhood and stopped in at a yard sale. It was some ex military psycho with all kinds of army bullshit and his friend was there with just a gigantic handgun in a holster. Imagine if that had been the mass shooting that I died in. I'm sure I'll die in one eventually but a yard sale shooting would be the lamest one.

Also, I had Wendy's for lunch.

Truly insane for many reasons but also because only one of those is actually enforceable in any way. I don't have a concealed carry permit but I could still hide a gun in my coat and no one would know.

Anyway the prevalence of concealed guns is why I'm scared to ever be mean to a stranger

Out-of-character Colbert could've been fun for a while if a Dem had won but Trump is just a crutch for lazy comedy. It probably still wouldn't have been as good as TCR of course because the traditional late-night format just sucks. Conan retooling to a half-hour is probably good I think (not that I have any interest in watching).

Half of the reason TCR was so great though wasn't even the political satire, it was the character's huge ego, like getting a space treadmill or a hockey mascot named after him.
