Speaking of Demon Slayer since I saw some of the discussion about it, does Zenitsu get better? Because as of the first season of the show he's super trash to me and actively brought the show down even with other stuff of the show being quality.

Yeah. I mean he doesn't stop being evil he is not he gets good scenes.

Maaaaaan I love this show so much, lol. Just amazing how they translate these early muddled scenes over.

How timely.

The rollout of that has been the weirdest fuckin thing. The whole "release first 6 episodes on Netflix Japan two weeks before the first episode airs and then the last 6 two weeks before the 7th episode airs" was already strange, but now it's actually coming to international Netflix only a WEEK after the final episode airs? And judging by the tweet they didn't mention any dubbing which they're always so proud to do usually so does that mean no dub on initial release? Is Netflix actually LEARNING, with small steps?

Oh actually maybe they aren't doing dubbing for corona reasons so they just decided "fuck it just release it" which hey

Not, like right at the end, but moving into the final arc. How long that actually means, who knows.

Haikyuu is ending too, forgot about that! Can't believe we're gonna be reaching a point where Black Clover is actually in second behind One Piece, at least for a period of time.

So I wonder what really will be the next big things in shounen? Ongoing, huge number series.

A year ago the Chainsaw Man stuff was just wishful thinking, but it's starting to look like that may be a reality.

If the anime really slams it home, Jujitsu Kaisen is poised to take very, very strong advantage of the timing and soar up the charts. Demon Slayer showed how much difference and anime can make.

It's a complete unknown at this point, but I think a lot of eyes are gonna be pointed towards. Urn the Witch. It's kind of cheating getting the promotional anime before the ongoing eve starts, but I don't think a single episode OVA is gonna be a deciding factor here.

Branching out but staying in Jump, Spy x Family is absolutely tearing up the charts, and it seems poised just keep growing.

Makes me wonder how long Dr. Stone will last and how long it'll take them to get to the moon

Hmm, looking into it it seems that we were originally approaching somewhere near the end of his original plan, but that things have changed. Apparently he put a lot of what he had originally envisioned as the ending into that second movie, and changed course for the actual series.

And wouldn't you know it, a new series just came out today that seems to have a lot of potential!

Dr Stone would still beat it. Also let it be known that Black Clover and Jujustu Kaisen do similarly in volume sales. One of them has 100+ anime series and the other has 0 anime episodes. As long as the anime isn't shit, JJK could be the next explosion. Chainsaw will probably be a little later, it's much more niche.

Also, Act-Age will probably get an adaptation. It's probably the most "underground" jump series right now so that should be interesting.

I have been meaning to read Act Age, I head good things.

Chainsaw Man does have the hurdle of adult content to get over. The sales have been impressive considering l, though.

I know this isn't something we have to worry about as much nowadays as we used to, but I would rather it not get an anime at all than to get a censored one.

Act-Age still doesn't have a large chunk of its beginning officially translated to English, which is unfortunate since it's a unique premise and would otherwise be easy to recommend. At this point, it's also the longest-running Jump series without an anime adaptation.

As far as Jump goes, it's in a weird spot since there are a couple long-running series ending close together. The last 7 cancelled series ended at 17, 23, 27, 27, 27, 36, and 43 chapters, so if any of the newer series are going to end prematurely, it's probably going to be soon.

The "main story" ended, but there's now alt routes which are going to cover everyone in the harem getting a turn to win.

Did anyone else watch Cautious Hero? I can't recall much conversation about it but I don't know I probably didn't pay much attention. In any case I watched episode 1 and it was pretty amusing. I liked the joke that the goddess picks Japanese males to summon as heroes specifically because of the isekai fad in Japanese media way more than it probably deserved.

Also got caught up on My Next Life as a Villainess, which is still pretty good. Yuri harem >>> reverse harem.

Cautious Hero starts real strong but gets old. First couple episodes are still gold.

Bakarina is at least in the top 3 for shows this season.

Cautious Hero also finishes strong imo. The middle is the weakest part.
