Minnesota is now the tipping point state on 538, being more contested than any of the three important ones Clinton lost in 16. Another poll today (out of the partisan Trafalgar group so take it with a grain of salt) shows Biden and Trump tied. Definitely a state to keep an eye on coming up.

I think it's pretty much purely that Kennedy didn't want to wait for a Senate seat to open up. He doesn't actually have a good policy reason to primary Markey.

Co-wrote the Green New Deal, co-sponsored Medicare for All, the bar is low enough that thats good enough for me right now, and Pelosi endorsing against the incumbent is just confirmation (bias) that Pelosi doesnt actually care about the things I care about, even if Kennedy SAYS hes for those things.

I think Kennedy is for most of the same stuff, yes, but I see no need to kick Markey out when he has been good on the very same stuff. I haven't been following the race closely (because last I checked it wasn't close...turns out that isn't the case any more), so I don't even know what Kennedy is campaigning on other than "he is old and I am not".

He didn't win his cases. He settled for undisclosed amounts. I do think he may have eventually won them and probably easily will amass over ten million when all the cases are settled, but you seem to be misleading with details here or unaware he just settled 3 of the like 10 cases.

Same. Still though 538 has them ranked as a C-. So they're very slanted, but not completely worthless. More non-partisan polls would be great but I'll take what I can get for now.

Yeah, the Kennedy primary is BS. Really glad that Markey seems to be hanging in that race because when this primary first happened months ago it initially looked like Kennedy was going to sleepwalk to victory on his family name despite the fact that Markey is without a doubt the more progressive candidate.

I've assumed that Pelosi's endorsement is because Kennedy is a House member/part of her caucus but I really would have preferred her to just not take a side there (since endorsing against one of her members never seemed likely.)

Also shoutouts to Warren who endorsed Markey from the jump.

FWIW I think Pelosi's general policy of supporting all of her caucus members makes a lot of sense; that's part of how she's able to make those members take tough votes (like for the ACA). This is a weird one, though.
