Predix: The Republicans win this year, and the Democrats hold the Presidency in 2024. There will be no major change unless the economy actually becomes bad, and not in the sense of we are at 50-year lows for unemployment, wages are way up, but people are finding things to complain about with gas prices.

The problem is the people who are against it are often one issue voters where that is the issue and the ones that are for it don't consider it a high priority or worth changing who they vote for.

What about the other issues that drive people to vote for Republicans? If gun control isn't the deciding factor for people now, you're going to need mass shootings to be a much bigger deal to persuade them to give up on whatever it is they support the GOP for.

Red I don't know if you realize this, you are smart enough to but statements you make in here whole feeling demoralized can be confusing, but the political state of America right now is bad and scary. Like... comparisons can be made to Germany years before the nazi patty rose to power and the precursors of that happening. It sounds insane but then when it is broken down it isn't crazy at all.

No leftist thinks oh yeah going to gun down people. It's 'I don't want to die and this country frightens me' some are anti gun still and I can completely respect being totally anti gun and having them and it's really chill with me. But also gun restrictions jhave been broadly popular for 30 years but like healthcare lobbies laugh at the American public so oops.

But the guns are merely a false sense of security. No one is going down fighting, if you are its too late and the gun isn't saving you anyway.

We are advanced enough that a civil war scenario isn't going to involve people grabbing their guns out of their house and shooting at their neighbors or whatever.

This is just fearmongering some weird apocalyptic scenario when reality would be a lot more somber and complacent.

Again, "no one thinks that" but this totally discounts that the reality of more guns is that when people snap(And they do on the left and right) it means we are going to have more mass shootings. i totally understand that the US is an incredibly scary country. but if i lived there, i'd probably try to flee to another country rather than getting a gun with the logic of "well, at least i'm prepared if shit hits the fan." i get that that's not easy and for a lot of people it's not possible at all, though.

They do far less on the left than the right it seems. Lots of studies out there about why that is.

Yes and no. Disney would benefit financially but they would accrue red tape and need permits which would screw up a lot of their projects. Either way, they will retain their special status. It's not going away. Just a PR stunt.
