I like how I spend hours grinding out drops in the Nether getting like 50 levels then I go to repair my bow and it costs 33 levels

I started to farm Ghasts again. But said "no, this is boring, I want to do something else." So I decided I should go back to that second Ancient City I never raided. Very glad I did, I found a whopping 5 god apples. In addition to a lot of other resources. Also hoeing out the sculk I found like 40 diamonds, no joke. And as you can see, all that sculk got me to level 63 lol

On the Ghasts front though, I have 65 tears, so I believe I only need about another 10 more. So might finish that tomorrow then fight the dragon a few times.

I've found one ancient city so far...by tunneling through the ceiling and falling to my untimely demise.

Sometimes I'll just try new seeds at random for hours and explore them flying in creative to find weird stuff. It's a good way to find new seeds too.

Is it worth looking for more strongholds to loot or is the loot not that good

So funny story. I got my last Ghast Tear. Immediately 4 Ghasts spawn. I kill them. Get the tears. Start walking back home. 3 more spawn. Why couldn't I get this kind of spawn luck 3 days ago. Anyway. it's done. Have my tears. Going to do some prep work. Make the crystals. Make bottles for Dragon's Breath. Gonna find a second Stronghold. Then it's dragon farming time.

That image makes me proud. Reminds me of a mass glass making event around 2015 when I covered lots of surrounding lava-laden canyons and made my home area look like geode. I even made it all light grey tinted.

2 rekills down. Fighting this thing can be nervewracking. she knocked me off one tower 3 times before I could break the crystal. Then this tower. As you can see I made it about halfway up. Then she freaking knocked me into the air and I landed on top of the tower and I used a water bucket to get down. lol

It would be nice to have a katana and run and jump like they did in the NES Ninja Gaiden intro and cut its head off.

And it works! This is fantastic! My first redstone contraption of the world (other than the wool farm. that doesn't count) and it works better than expected! This is great news. I'm going to build another one underground under a mob spawner and put Sculk Catalysts to turn the stone into Sculk :D

Actually... I don't know if this will work. =/ In my tests dropping zombies onto dripstone and it killing them did not cause the Sculk to spread. And when I kill them myself it does spread to the stone, but it also spreads onto the cobblestone and into the walls. Maybe building an Endermen farm in The End would be better for Sculk? =/

I could've used a buddy like you to co-op with years ago. I'd be no good to you now. I'm just a jaded hole digger and gold collector now.

Ooooh apparently the reason the sculk wasn't spreading when I dropped the mobs onto dripstone is because if I don't directly attack them, they don't drop XP.

How do other people get this to work then.

Also it FINALLY thundered at my base. Not a single one of the wild horses that I put in pens with lightning rods was struck by lightning x_x

I figured out how to get the dripstone to spread Sculk, but unfortunately I don't think this design will work. The spawner is just too slow, the machine gets jammed up. I might have to go to The End and get a mite in a cart for this.

The seed Glacier used to have some cool shit back in the day. Of course the newer builds all changed that. I miss my old seeds. I finally started recording them and their build in a spreadsheet online.

You can build portals into and out of the Nether. The Nether is its own dimension but it's also a fast travel mechanic. 1 block traveled in the Nether is roughly 7-8 blocks traveled in the Overworld.

There's also the End. You can't build portals to the End, you have to find already constructed portals and put Eyes of Ender inside the portal to open it. Then when you leave the End you just get placed on the last bed you slept in or at your spawn location if it can't put you on your bed for whatever reason.

There's also probably a fourth dimension being added soon. But they need to update the End first before they do that.

If I had to guess what the future update plan is, I'd say:
1.20 is going to be a small update that adds one or two cool new things to play with. Maybe an old biome gets something new like birch forests. But it's mostly going to be a systems overhaul update. Inventory rework, maybe some optimization, new UI stuff.

1.21 is going to be a BIG update. The End update. New biomes. New structures. New blocks. New mobs. New ores. They're going to do to The End what they did to the Nether in 2020. It's going to become a place you actually want to go to and explore.

1.22 will be an Overworld biome overhaul. Older biomes that are in desperate need of some kind of rework will get all new things. Biomes like deserts, badlands, savannas, forests, etc. will get reworked generation or new mobs/blocks/structures/items.

1.23 will be the Fourth Dimension update. The statues/portals in the Ancient Cities will finally be openable. What we'll find on the other side, who knows. Personally what I think the portals are are timegates. I think the Fourth Dimension will take us to pockets of the past. We'll see what the Ancient Cities looked like in the past, and there will be powerful mobs/a new boss inside the portals. I'm probably way off base though lol

But all of this is a ways off. 1.20 hasn't even been announced yet. Minecraft Live is in about a month. I think at that event 1.20 and 1.21 will both be announced. 1.20 *might* come at the end of the year. If not, it will be early next year.

Yes, but it comes at a cost. You can only teleport to HELL. Or if you're lucky you might get to a voidspace where lies a string of islands with a giant dragon raining HELLFIRE at you. Either way, it's HELL.

And yeah, if you don't know what the Nether is. It's hell. Fire and oceans of lava and red stone everywhere. And pigmen. And zombie pigmen. And giant floating jellyfish that shoot exploding orbs at you and make horrifying crying sounds.

They have spiced it up in recent years though. Last time I went they had trees and shit. Pretty colors. I prefer plain hell, but the additions are nice I guess.
