I'm curious, what are they outgrinding you with? Without the Xyz Toolbox the deck is a bit of a one-trick pony.

Jellyfish's negates, Doom Kraken's effect, Sea Stealth Attack constantly saving both their spells/traps from destruction and their monsters from my Widow Anchors and stuff like that by banishing them until the end phase. Like I said, the biggest problem is SSA, and they have it every fucking time.

Galaxy Tomahawk is an obvious choice for link spam purposes, but I'm pretty sure it's a UR. If you want a cheaper option, Big Eye is only an SR and its effect is pretty good, but not really usable going first.

Almost reaching Gold tier.
Pretty slow because I only do games for daily missions.

But on the other hand, I haven't reached Gold 1 on regular ranked (@ Gold 3 now because losing streak). RIP 100 gems.

Went ten straight games not drawing Raye, Rose, Rota, or Engage in my starting hand. Ugh

Running Gameciel the Sea Turtle Kaiju as a going second option in my Marincess deck has yielded some hilarious results. I can kaiju away one of their monsters, link climb to Aqua Argonaut, and use her effect to send the kaiju back to my hand to drop it on top of another monster.

Anyways, I made it to Gold 5 in the event on both of my accounts. Grinding through Silver was way easier than grinding through Bronze. My end goal is to get to Plat 5 in the event (for the Link Blue card sleeves) at least on my main account, but preferably on both accounts.

There is this feeling of sadness that I cannot use my Rokket/Borrel deck in the event because the endboard and followup play is extremely subpar.

OTOH, Dragonmaid backed up by Dragunity works, so I am kinda happy.

Well, considering Pillar Men are all ancient (primal) stuff, it fits.

Got to Silver rank with Altergeists. Have yet to come across Marincess or Umi.dek and am kinda surprised.
Evil Twins and Tri-Brigade have been annoying, but manageable.

Most stressful three turns of my life. Grinded with Marincess till like turn 8. Neither of us have any cards in hand. MP2 I have to crash Shuraig into Bubble Reef just to get a search. Kitt into Doom Eagle into Accesscode is able to clear their field but, oh shit, Nervall was called last turn so now I've got nothing but a beatstick and a prayer.

We proceed to play the top-deck game. They pass, back to me and I draw Called, which ended up being precisely the card I needed to not get killed lol.

In other news, went ahead and bit the bullet and crafted two Ghost Belles, also three TCBOO and bought 3 Salad decks for Cynet Mining. I'm pretty much tapped out on anything till the next set of missions lol

How many SK Starving Venom do I need?
I guess I will try to complete my Pendulum Magician.

PK pack has some interesting stuff, too, like PK Shade Brigandine, which is a nice starter for Rank 4 play, Raider's Knight into Arc Rebellion for OTK.

Then an Artemis and a Selene (maybe pull the secret pack until I get an Artemis), then Electrumite.

Depends on what you intend to use it for. Its main use is as an extender to copy Electrumite and cycle Astrograph. Just 1 is all that's really needed if you want to do the basic "kill Double Iris twice to get both Pendulumgraphs" combo.

Main benefit of using 2 imo is going into Rank 8 plays, if you've got something you can use for that. (Just remember as you're in the early combo that SK Venom needs two DARK monsters, and Harmonizing can only sync/xyz with Magicians.) One of the top decks on MDM uses three but for the life of me I've never found myself in a position where I wanted a third, but then again I'm not all that great tbh. Maybe if you're a 1337 pro you can do cool stuff but idk >_>

But now I have a semicompleted rokket deck, but it was costly. I don't have anymore SRs and will need to wait for the next duel pass. I hope to make a predaplant deck next.

Tried messing around with Shiranui (had their URs from when I pulled for zombies. Figure I'd at least try them out before dismantling)

This deck is fun, but it feels way too overbalanced. Spectralsword's gimmick is just a worse version of Tri-Brigade's link cheating, and their only real disruption is a zombie version of Icarus Attack. >_>

I'll probably fiddle around with them in casual for a few months then dust em. Makes me sad because the Skillsaga link is cute <_<

I just played against a Cyber Dragon deck that played Cyberdark Chimera and passed. Then I just killed them with Utopia Double. Didn't even have a hand trap or backrow to stop me (though I had harpie's feather storm in hand).

Seems as though Sprights dominated a YCS, with Joshua Schmidt finally taking another title. Even though Sprights lost Frogs, they gained Runicks in the very latest set, which basically happened in the small pocket of space after the banlist and before the set titled MAMA, a set full of waifus, came out to massively break Tearlaments.

I guess people couldn't foresee just how powerful Runick Sprights would be to literally look near t0, if it weren't for a massively heavy Tear representation sneaking past top 64 to prevent the t0 status.

Messed around in Gold a bit. My Kairyushin bullied a bunch of Dark Spellian players, though the last one I don't feel bad because they were running Skill Drain lol. Funny thing is they were ultimately defeated by their own Eternal Soul. DM being unaffected by traps meant he couldn't suicide it to open up his board. All I had to do was activate Whale then SeaStealth it off the field to resolve the "everyone attacks directly this turn" effect lol

All 3 of the cards hit are N/R cards. Clearly they really don't want to give people free SR/UR material for refunding cards that get hit unless they absolutely have to, so they look for ways to hit decks by only hitting N/R cards first. SR's get minor hits occasionally (like the floodgate hits in the previous list) and UR's don't get hit unless they absolutely break the game to the point of driving players away.

Map to 2 hurts Floow more than the others because they really depend on that field spell and they already tended to brick quite a bit after the Prosperity hit. Advent being added in the recent selection pack gives them more ways to search it though, plus Terraforming and Metaverse exist too. So it hurts, but they're still arguably better off now than they were before Advent was added.

The others are just minor consistency hits. Longjuan to 2 has the small side effect of Swordsouls needing to use Chixiao's search on Longjuan more often instead of opening with it in their hand and searching Protos instead.

Honestly I'd be surprised if we see any major hits for a while. Only big thing I can see them maybe doing in the next few months is banning Rhongo, if that Numbers Evil/Sales Ban combo gets too cheesy for the format

Widow Anchor at 3 doesn't improve the power level that much. More than the consistency, it's more of a grind game buff imo.

The semi limits are pure consistency nerfs. Longyuan is their best extender so it should hurt a bit. They should've limited Branded in Red though. That semi-limit doesn't really do anything worthwhile

I yearn for Kagari at at least 2. But I guess we're lucky we even have Engage at 2.

Decided i'd try to get to Plat 2 in the event, but it was not to be. Bright side, I didn't rank down, at least. Got better at playing against Salamangreat, and pulled some goofy Jinzo UR from a legacy pack.

Also practiced a bit with Marincess in Gold and I really like the feel of the deck. Will probably take it to the link event when the new missions drop.

Dude put 2 3k Cubic Crimson and, being 0 ATK, Hieratic Seal couldn't bounce it lol.
But Hieratic wasn't negated so I could tutor a Chamber which ate the 1st Cubic attack, but its effect allowed it to attack the 2nd time.
Luckily I started with Tidying which I threw for Ravine cost, so I revived Nurse which then revive Parlor...or should be, but Parlor got Called.
So the 2nd attack was neutered but I still take 3k from the 2nd Cubic.

Dude then proceeded to links and went Masquerena -> Borrelcode -> Zeroboros...for some reason.

After yesterday raging because of Marincess cockblock, I decided to put Pankratops and 2 kaijus back to my deck.
The Pank that I drew on 1st turn quickly showed its worth by sacrificing itself to make Zeroboros effect yeet dude's monsters (except Cubic Crimson because Zeroboros OG ATK is 3k) to banish pile (they had Cubic Crimson, Zeroboros, and...another that would be bad news if it gets destroyed).
Link plays ensued to fetch Arma Gram and ending in my ever-so-trusted Borrelsword.

Honestly if dude kept those two Cubic Crimson on field I would not be able to OTK it.
Borrelsword OG ATK is 3k and thus I can't use it to switch it to defense.

....or maybe I should've rammed Borrelsword to Zeroboros, idk.

Didn't we literally just get a list 2 weeks ago? I like the frequent tuning. Hopefully this means we can get Fraktall back to 3 soon.

Raye protectors are out.

It alternates between Raye and her Kagari Armor throughout the match.

I dread whenever I see Trickstar in the event.

But just now I fought one. Ash'd their Light Stage search. They made me drew several cards to burn my LP but only ending up in Bella Madonna for some reason. That let me win even when I was Droll'd.

I don't think it's worth it. It's too situational, and it's basically a card where you need to already be in a disadvantaged state to use it. If you activate TTT while going first because you got hand-trapped, that usually means they already interrupted your play, and you would rather have had a card to protect your play (Called By, Crossout, Gamma, etc.) than TTT. If you activate it while going second, that usually means they already managed to set up negates and negated one of your attempts to break their board, and you would rather have had a handtrap to stop them from setting up the previous turn in the first place or a better board breaker (Lightning Storm, Evenly Matched, a kaiju, etc.) than TTT.

It does have a niche use in decks whose main goal on turn 1 is to set up a single big unaffected monster, like Mathmechs or (relevant to this event) Marincess. If you get hand-trapped once but can still play through it, you can use TTT to look at the opponent's hand and possibly get rid of a kaiju that would be their only out to your big unaffected monster or another handtrap before they can use it. But I don't think that niche alone is worth the UR material to craft TTT. If it were a SR, then sure, it would be worth toying around with. But UR material is better spent elsewhere IMO.

TTT is an absolutely fantastic staple card... in a best of 3 format. As MD stands it's probably not worth maining right now.

I had no cards in hand so I couldn't get Revolt and my only realistic play would be Appollousa and pray that my next draw would be a Tri name and not a handtrap.

But my opponent must've hated that I played through everything because they quit as soon as I summoned Bear lol.

Still learning the deck myself though and I have been severely undervaluing Coral Triangle. She's like, the pivotal comeback card and just saved my ass against a Swordsoul player by letting me rebuild my board from literally nothing.

Platinum is not very friendly for cydra players yet half of them in my discord channel are diamond.

Marbled Rock came in somewhat clutch in one of my games. She's for the grind game, but she extended my plays just enough and also served as a great summon target for the on-attack summon an equipped Sus to play boss mon.

I honestly didn't know that. That allowed me to get Nurse on board.

Stupid stupid stupid

Had a heated match against magical musketeers and they had the upper hand but I made a come back and just needed to smart play but I screwed at the very end and had to surrender because of that.

Watching people throw various card effects at my unaffected by card effects Marincess monsters because they didn't read Battle Ocean and then surrender after a few seconds of thinking "why card no work?" will never get old. I even watched one guy hold onto his Nibiru until the end of my turn (if he had played it right after the fifth summon he would have stopped my turn entirely and I probably would have been screwed) and then surrender shortly after it resolved and he saw that my Aqua Argonaut was still on the field.
