I'm still having fun testing out crystal beasts with my other decks. As it is with all mid-stage decks, it pretty much loses to better mid-stage decks like Sky Strikers

I think TCG/OCG talk is acceptable at least in terms of scouting what will come to Master Duel in the future. Plus, banlist updates to those formats (especially the OCG) can also be an indication of what's to come in MD as well. The primary focus of discussion should still be MD though.

Lmfao I mean it pretty much is extra linking. Sadly all it does is briefly counter link reliant decks, which a lot of decks aren't nowadays esp with Halq gone

Marincess is a really light engine actually. You have to strip off a lot of the consistency and recurrence engine and it'll be hard to keep the right field spell on the board though. But they have some good boss monsters and making them requires like thin air

I do like how you can do decent link climbing combos off a single card, and almost any two Marincess names gives you a 4000 atk Towers. Definitely gonna run them pure as well, the Umi hybrid is just a silly meme I want to mess around with. Luckily Sea Stealth 2 and Maiden give me Umi even when I don't have Umi, so there's still plenty of opportunity for a cancerous "Towers + Gozen + 2 Omni Negates" board. >___>

Synchrons are getting crushed hard. It's so difficult protecting junk speeder from ash/imperm. I lost 15-20 times in a row because of it. Now I am back to gold V.

I would be rich if all those negated Dragonmaids or Striker Dragon effect worth even half a dollar.

It sucks that the deck dies to a single negate, but when you like the archetype...

I also summoned a Borreload Savage with no links in grave.

Last game today. I normal summon Jellyfish and activate to summon Kairyu. They pitch Veiler. I chain Jellyfish to negate.

...they Gamma, which negates my negate, but destoys my Jellyfish which lets it dodge Veiler anyways lmao.

I could've won 2 of them, but my idiot self decided to do the Tenyi plays all wrong and also forget about the Adventure nulling my normal summon effects

Made a misplay vs Madolche but the Madolche seemed to somehow threw the match despite being able to empty my board with Tiaramisu if they killed my Buster Dragon with their unaffected by monster Puddingcess.

Hmm, I seem to get much better results with Sky Strikers going 1st against Branded Despia. And heck even other decks too. More disruptions for them to deal with when they go second. And thats without the adventurer package

And as much as it pains me to do it I'm probably gonna dismantle my Toon deck for staple dust. Used to love goofing off with it, but realizing it just hasn't been as fun for me. Might finally be time to drop it.

If you not having fun with it and not even wanting to use it in solo duels for missionsits time to let things go. It happens.

Im a lot more mercenary with my decks though. Ive built and dismantled a lot of them.

I'm not short on UR materials right now on either account, so I'm keeping the Adventurer cards for now. But I'm not using them in any deck right now, and I don't even know what decks it's worth using them in anymore.

If I wanna perfect Tenyi Swosou then I gotta craft 2 more gryffon rider... Do I do a sick meta call and just craft em so I can dismantle em later?

Btw the easiest combo in the world is to SS any lvl 7 Tenyi and chain Griffon Rider to it. 2 Lvl 7 on board makes Galaxy Tomahawk, which literally makes every single thing in your fucking deck, but one pro tip is you gotta summon Tomahawk in the main monster zone I think. Gotta do more testing to see if that truly is optimal

They were bad even by the standards of the 2010-2011 meta they were introduced in, so throw in a decade of powercreep later and they're even worse. Since they're Machine-type, have a decent capability to special/Synchro summon, and some of them have low ATK, you could maybe make a modern Karakuri deck that uses Machine Duplication and those monsters to summon Auroradon and do Synchros with those tokens. But being a different and inferior flavor of Auroradon bullshit is pretty much the extent of their usefulness at this point.

Playing the Link festival, made it to high gold and it's...cromulent.

Coulda beat a Mekk Knight player if I rememered to activate Sea Stealth on the draw phase. (It's a clunky card that can't activate its protection effects until the *card* has already resolved the first time.) C'est la vie

Mostly-Rokket does not use Chambermaid + Tidying, but Dragon Link does.

edit: for a more 'pure' Rokket experience, Wyverburster & Collapserpent as well as Chaos Space can be yeeted off the deck.
If you don't want to deal with the BS of ritual monster, cut Double Disruptor, Borreload Riot, and Heavy Interlock.
However, Borreload Riot has handy effect in grave that can be extremely useful sometimes, so you can run it even without its ritual spell.
Dragon's Mirror (or even OG Poly) can be considered so Borreload Furious can attack anything else and not just Extra Deck monster.

I honestly want to cut it to 40 cards, but it is hard without cutting the Rokkets and Borreload Riot stuff.

Got up to Plat 5 using Bird Daddy. Fuck this festival. Fuck ladders. I'm just trying to kick back and chill not stress about climbing. >_>

No, I missed the 'once per battle', and Borrelsword can attack twice.
I also didn't use Magnarokket's effect on it...

...and I also had the Forbidden Droplet, but did not use it.
And why, when it goes to GY, I cannot Called by it when it proc the effect? >_>

Had a brick duel against Crusadia. It was like, turn 3 or 4 before either of us played a single card.

Fortunately I won the Chain Link 6 Maxx C mini-game which, combined with Droplets, let me survive the OTK and have plenty to win the turn after >_>

I had a really hilarious duel against a Dragon Link deck. He did his long link combo to end on Borrelend, Masquerena, and some other stuff on turn 1. I dropped a Gameciel on top of Borrelend, then he used Masquerena and his other stuff (including my kaiju I gave him) to summon a second Borrelend. I did my long Marincess combo to end on a really powerful and unaffected by card effects Great Bubble Reef, then used Marincess Wave to negate his second Borrelend's effects so I could destroy it by battle. He wasted some more resources trying to out my Bubble Reef (not realizing it was unaffected by card effects thanks to Battle Ocean) and then I won on turn 4 with Bubble Reef hitting the final blow with 7600 ATK.

After today, I've made it to Silver 5 in the event on both of my accounts. Almost all of my losses so far are to either Live/Evil Twins or Umi Control. I can beat everything else, but it's just these two decks in particular that are causing me trouble.

That is why Borrelsword is the better option sometimes.

I bought the Karakuri/Six Sam duel field and with the gems from event missions, I'm back at 10k gems.

....time to see whether anything interests me.

rokket is harder to use than I thought. I trimmed it down for the link event and been losing mostly.

I just need to learn what to do with rokket tracer after I summon it and get the combo rolling.

Not in this case though. Borrelend has more natural protection (which got bypassed by the kaiju and then negated by Wave anyways) and none of Borrelsword's effects would have done anything in that situation either.

What I meant is to summon Borrelsword later so it can run over Bubble Reef....though looking at your comments of the fight, it might have more than 6k ATK already at turn 3 thus Borrelsword can't really run it over.

Losing Borreload Savage hurts, bro.

It's hard for turn 1 Rokket to establish a good board (lol I can only have Seal), but turn 2 Borrelsword OTK is hard because enemies' shenanigans.

Ashing Kairyu is an underrated move because while the deck has plenty of ways to get to its monsters and Umi, Kai is the only way to guarantee the big dick cards of Dark Reef and Sea Stealth Attack. Without those the deck is praying you can't play through a single negate (and Jellyfish can't even stop traps lol Imperm)

If your opening hand doesn't look like it can play through Kairyu's floodgate and you want to stop him from hitting the field, hit Fish Sonar, the Ice Barrier trap, or normal summoned Jellyfish.

Running over Jellyfish in the battle phase should also be considered because it will force them to banish Kai if you've got any other negates/destruction, which frees you from the floodgate for a turn and lets you set up. The main risks here are Doom Kraken (usually a one-of so not a huge threat) and Sea Stealth 2, which can summon Fortress Whale from the hand during the battle phase (also a one-of, so again, not a huge threat unless you know they searched it.)

If there is no news about Red-Eyes cards in MD, I think I'm going to choose Cyber(darks) Dragon next.

From however many times I fought them, they seem fun okay, though CyDra Core being negated hurts (not unlike any Maids get negated).

But more importantly, the structure deck allows some gem saving which is neat and lets me go either Cyber or Cyberdark.

I originally wanted Utopia but lol I also need to pull the Onomat pack, hell.

Any of you guys want to pitch some opinions on Cydra or Cydark?

I havent used either, but I think the Cyberdarks look cooler. >_> Also I tend to like equips as a mechanic even though they're so fragile.

"Terrible matchup against Sky Strikers" you say, when it's absolutely bodied my Sky Striker deck every time I've faced it. Every single time I've played against an Umi Control deck so far, they've opened with both the field spell and Sea Stealth Attack, then SSA keeps me from destroying either of them and they just outgrind me from there. Eventually I decided to swap out the Twin Twisters I was using before for Cosmic Cyclone so I could banish SSA instead, but then when I finally did that, they immediately played a second copy.

Kairyu has only appeared in 1 of my 5 losses to the deck so far, and I don't even know wtf Dark Reef is because I haven't seen it yet. The main problems I'm having are with SSA and that god-forsaken Jellyfish. Maybe I'm just having terrible luck with them having SSA and the field spell every god damn time, but this deck has been infuriating to play against.

I'm curious, what are they outgrinding you with? Without the Xyz Toolbox the deck is a bit of a one-trick pony.

I say it has a bad matchup against Sky Strikers because I've lost every game I've had against them Raye doesn't give a fuck about the floodgate, and the deck has too many ways to take out their monsters, especially once you've got Engage. (

Also, I've been getting fucked by Ghost Belle constantly in this event.

Is she worth running in standard? I'm kinda tempted to craft her but I also don't want to feel stupid and craft two cards I just never end up using outside this event.

Ghost Belle is very good. She can negate stuff like Called by to protect Raye, stop GY summoning, stop revolt. I absolutely love this card.

And not only for this event, she is useful even for the normal ranked duels
