Fucked up my Pendulum combo but my opponent was playing Kairyu-shin going second so I won anyways lol. Turns out a good match-up will carry you through bad misplays lol.

I'm not well versed with Salamangreats, but I needed a link deck for the event and getting 3 of the new structure deck was just cheap.

Parallel Exceed as a way to get more link material, maybe? I dunno, I don't play this deck but I've seen a few use it.

Maybe I should get a Jet Dragon.
As long as I can get an OG Blue-Eyes to the grave it will become a nuisance quick enough.
More bodies for plays, revives itself when your stuff gets destroyed, etc.

edit: Blue-Eyes + Jet Dragon could work well for Dragonmaid (+ Dragunity) and Rokket (since they basically destroys themselves).
Although I'm not sure what to cut and I sure as hell don't want to cut the kaiju.

Their goals are beyond my understanding

As is tradition, with a rank promotion duel comes a 4-game streak of brick hands. There is no counterplay to "you don't draw any starters until turn 7".

Oh, then on my fifth game I actually got to play Yugioh...only for my opponent to have two copies of Maxx C lmao.

I'm done with this shitty grind of an event. Had my fill of salt. Probably won't even come back for the new missions unless it's a fuck ton. I need a break from this shit <_<

The only thing in this event funnier than watching people throw various card effects at my unaffected by card effects Marincess monsters because they didn't read Battle Ocean and then surrender after a few seconds of thinking "why card no work?" is me dropping a kaiju on top of my opponent's unaffected by card effects Marincess monsters and them surrendering after a few seconds of thinking "why protection no work?"

Seriously, as fun as my Sky Striker and Marincess decks have been to use, Gameciel and Kamongus are the real MVP's of this event for me.

I'm using Gadarla myself for Dragunity Arma Gram synergy.

I want to fit Blue-Eyes as well as Jet Dragon for additional power, but this requires 3 to 5 cards, afraid that'll make too bricky

That works too. Using a different kaiju besides Gameciel also has the benefit of opposing Marincess decks in this event not being able to use it as a link material to help them recover on the next turn, which is why I went with Kamongus in my Sky Striker deck instead.

Its one reason why red/blue-eyes have the nickname Brick-Eyes! But this was also before considerable Blues support was released.

Yeah, the thing is I need to drop both Blue-Eyes to the GY, and the only card I have that allows me to do so is Dragon's Shrine (mill a dragon, then if it is normal mon, mill another).

But, putting just one Shrine? That's just too betting on luck.

edit: I never see any Blue-Eyes on the event, weirdly.

It's only 1 mill per turn (plus the discard from your hand for cost could also dump a Blue-Eyes from there) but it's more easily searchable. I use it in my Dragonmaid build and it works fairly well.

Thirding Kaijus being a godsensd in this event, especially since I can bounce them back to my hand with Altergeist Silquitous, then kaiju a second monster if need be.

Also got to make good use of Lose 1 Turn tonight, since it stuns most monsters for a turn.

I have 3 of them already, lol.
3 Remus, 1 Legatus, 3 Ravine, 1 Glow, 1 Arma Gram + Romulus in EX are what I used in this event.

But while it can work, Jet Dragon requires Blue-Eyes on GY or field, and with Ravine I need either on hand first to discard the other (or take two turns to dump both).

My event deck's power level is extremely low; it relies on making Borrelsword + summoning Arma Gram to swing for game as soon as possible (which is my main win con) and irritating my opponents through Dragonmaid shenanigans (which frankly doesn't always work).

Hence I thought Jet Dragon could help with it because, well, it's hard to say no to 3k beaters that cannot stay put.

New mission.

10x destroy card (150 gems total)

edit: I do not like fighting Sky Strikers.

I've made it to Plat 5 and gotten the Link Blue card protector on both of my accounts, so I'm officially done caring about this event.

2 wins for Plat 5 is something I am sure would be too much effort to get.

You only have to get into Plat 5 for the sleeves, so you don't actually have to do a single duel in Platinum. Plus you have like 5 days left to do it.

I'm so annoyed having every game having 0 hand traps in my opening hand, but my opponent always having everything so I can't even set up my own board.

Got to Gold 2 tonight, won 3/5 duels. My only notable loss was to a Sky Striker deck that used Hayate to direct attack when I had 1000 LP. During that Battle Phase, I activated Altergeist Memorygant's effect to tribute my Altergeist Meluseek, which then allowed me to add Altergeist Kunquery to my hand and force the attack to be redeclared, as the amount of cards on the field changed. My opponent direct attacked again and I couldn't activate Kunquery's effect to special summon itself and negate the attack.

Felt a little robbed there, I could have turned it around.

I've never resolved Maxx C once in the last 3 days, and I got Maxx C'd with no Ash or Called By 5 times. I fucking hate this event

I am at plat 3. Funny thing happened in my rank up match. It was against a marincess player, they made their board and of course they had ALL of the important hand traps against me Maxx C -> Called by, Shizuku -> Ash, Kagari -> Forbidden Droplets, Hayate -> Imperm. I was legit pissed as fuck and even when I still broke their board, they managed to make their board again anyway.

So they did their long ass combo because of course my other Maxx C also got negated because why not right? They made three big link boss monsters and went to battle phase, they negated my Kaina and then they lost because of the timer

I resolved 1 Maxx C since that post. I also just had a 10 turn duel against a Salamangreat where we both literally went through our entire extra deck...

I finally hit gold 1 then demoted back immediately, because every deck I've been facing just has the perfect starting hand to out everything I do.

I finally hit Plat 5. I think I'm done with this event. It takes a bit too long, and I realized I have like 5 other games I'd rather play. Honestly, this event isn't really better or worse than the other events on average. I guess that's a long way to say it's very average. I don't think it's as bad as some people are saying because I lost to like Altergeists, Dragon Links, Salads, Endymion, Mystic Cerberus, surprisingly none to Sky Strikers

I even battled a Lightsworn, though as Lightsworns do, their turn 1 is literally nothing, but they did do some really threatening stuff along the way. They had to use freaking 1 destruction Accesscode because all the other links they had were light attr.

That's a lot more variety than any other event I ever dueled in.

The problem with this event is that every deck is a combo deck, which makes every duel really fucking long. That's more of an inherent problem with YGO, but SwoSo and Branded certainly don't take as long as a Marinsus or Salads. I mean I can do the Marinsus generic combo now in less than a quarter of the timer. I literally zone out while doing it until my 5th summon.

Been hearing quite a few stories of Marincess players losing to the timer, lol. Wonder if Konami changed the timer specifically with this in mind, or if they'll roll it back a bit.

Went ahead and put together a cancerous Nurse Burn deck because the Legacy Packs thought I was a normal person and could be trusted with Tri-And-Guess. Deck sucks but it is weirdly satisfying when you can burn your opponent for 9K during their draw phase.

But the best part was fighting against some player, and I stupidly activated Tri-And-Guess during their draw phase without any idea of what deck they were actually playing. (You have to choose an non-Link extra deck type and whoever has more gains 3000 LP). But my opponent had a DragonMaid mate and DragonMaid sleeves so I blind guessed "fusion" and...they actually were playing DragonMaids lmao.

Was about to win but I surrendered before my chain finished resolving because I was trying to derank. >__>

The solution to Marincess and not running out of timer is to go to solo mode and just practice 2-3 times under different things you're trying to do.

Recursion in long duels get really hectic, but the first combo should not take you that long cuz it's the same combo every time with different extenders

Ran into a Pendulum newbie and had a mirror match. Felt kinda bad since they were clearly inexperienced, hope they keep at it. Must spread the Gospel of Pendulum to all duelists!

Nah, in this case they would most likely actually ban Rhongo. Banning Rhongo would give people 1 full UR refund (because who on earth would craft and keep more than 1 in their extra deck?) while the limits you're proposing would give people 4 full UR refunds since both of those cards are UR. We all know how much Konami hates giving people free UR material, so they would pick the banlist hit that gives the smallest UR refund possible, which in this case would be banning Rhongo and leaving Numbers Eveil and Sales Ban at 3. Those cards won't see much use outside of this Rhongo combo anyways.

So I just ran into a very interesting deck online... a Spellbook Sky Striker deck. The idea of using the Spellbook spells and Spellbook Magician of Prophecy to set up the graveyard with spell cards for Sky Striker plays and also having Spellbook Magician of Prophecy as another target for Selene into Accesscode makes sense, but the build the guy was using was over 50 cards and looked really sloppy. I do like the idea though, and I know there's a Spellbook structure deck now that has most of these cards, so I think I might try to build my own version of this deck.

I ran into someone using a spellbook engine for sky Strikers before. Main reason I dont really care for it is that it uses the normal summon.

When you wanted to extend your combos to try to have a certain board, only to realize in the end that you mess it and ended up clogging your own zones.

Good thing it is solo mode.
It's not like it'll happen in actual duel anyway.

Thought I had a brick hand since I opened all three copies of Raye. As it turned out, my opponent was playing InvokedShaddolls, so that actually worked in my favor as I was able to outgrind Mechaba by throwing Rayes at it as sacrifices to the banish pile. >_>

Thing that saved me in the end was Dark Charmer, which stole one of their fusion monsters monsters and let me wipe out their last ~4k lifepoints.

...and also Ghost Belle, who gave one of those Rayes an extra turn to defend me by dodging the "banish 3 gy cards" shaddoll. Such a good investment. <_<

Everytime I do not have enough Rokkets for Dragon Link triangle, I need to use Tracer's effect causing me to get locked to Dark and robbing me Hieratic Seal in my endboard.

...I really need that one Borrelend, huh.

If there is any generic Dark Link 3 that can provide negate it might be a better option.
