Not sure what you're trying to say here. Portal was Valve and Valve. Not really a small developer.

No, it was the Narbacular Drop guys and Valve. Which then became Valve guys.

I have not played ICO. But it is multiplayer? Does it have offline multiplayer?

Yes, and no. Offline multiplayer would spoil the experience. Trust me on this. I can go into more detail, but this is one of those games where it's better to come in blind and with no expectations so you can get wowed by it. To put this in perspective, I'd rather spoil a game's ending than Journey's mechanics because of how good they are, and how well they work.

OK, yeah, I can get behind that. Sorry for misreading you! I'm one of those guys who thinks the DR endings are actually pretty boss, overall. Yeah, things are slightly on rails, but it works, which sets it apart from ME3.

You mean the endings that were almost exactly like the endings in the original Deus Ex? Short cutscene showing the consequences of what you just did, narration, credits

The difference is that DX's endings were all based on the characters you'd collaborated with, or opposed, the whole game. ME3's are 'make a random, meaningless choice. The universe is still ****ed, because Mass Relays explode with the force of supernovas. Whoops!'. That's the really annoying point: Regardless of choice made, those explosions mean the galaxy is now a lifeless husk.

I think you still can if you burn a feat, it's called Martial Cross-training I think, replaces a usage of power strike with a fighter encounter power. I think minimum level's 3 because it needs Improved Power Strike.
^This. And Blackguards don't get Encounters, but do get dailies.

They get dread smite multiple times instead of encounters, right?

Interesting. I'm thinking I'll probably make a desert wind monk as my back-up character in Scep's game, and it's useful to know what class variations are bad.

Are there other class variations that get to choose the mainline class' regular powers (like how blackguards or slayers can't)?

Both of those classes can actually take their parent class' powers, actually. I can't think of any that can't off the top of my head, except Warpriests.

My thoughts are that it depends on what you're looking for; berserkers aren't pure strikers while barbs are.

Predix: Kan says no (because he was arguing this on SA just a while ago).

The argument was that their flexibility to switch between striker and defender isn't all that flexible because they can't go back to striker later if they need it.

No, back to defender. That's the killer, because their defender side is excellent and their striker side is very lame. The real Berserker is a Barbarian|Warden (either the Valerian build, or a light armor one).

So hey Vlado, do you think LS is lying here? Just gimme a straight up answer, yes or no. And don't try to dodge by addressing someone else either, please.

I haven't called anyone a liar. LS IS a pretty biased Nintendo fan, though. Quite clueless regarding the industry, too, as his posts in the past few years clearly indicate. But the two usually go hand-in-hand.

But if Liquid WInd isn't the liar, then LS is. There's simply no way the statement 'Skyward Sword is selling slower than TP' is compatible with 'Skyward Sword is selling faster than TP'. So, do you think Liquid Wind is lying then? Because if not, those 'liar monsters' you say don't exist are present in this very topic.

Oh, I thought you were saying Val could negate forced movement or something. Since I have an ability named Unstoppable Lightning I thought it would be appropriate.

Anyway me fighting Val would be a complete toss-up. I win initiative without question, and if we start close enough, I immediately Lightning in the Blood, move adjacent, Shock Spiral, Action Point, and Thunder Leap in place. That's 32 + 23 + 5 + 31.5 + 31.5 if all hit, plus another 23 at the start of his turn, which should prove easily fatal. If all hit. With my +17 attack bonus against NADs, I beat his REF 80% of the time, and his FORT 60% of the time. I also have Good Timing for a reroll, and to succeed in that strategy, I need one hit from Shock Spiral and two from Thunder Leap. The odds, including Good Timing, should be pretty even.

Even better, if I miss, I can still get one more chance to finish him off because he can't attack me without incurring Vengeance is Mine and one last counterattack.

So it's very likely my win, actually.

EDIT: ... Unless he can chain off his Strikebacks. That would be a problem.

Assuming we start at 10 spaces of distance (as with Amy), I think you win, but a botched roll at the wrong time leads to me winning because I can knock you out of your combo with the Blade of Kings. On that note, if I find a way to add pushing to my attacks, I win pretty much for free because I can guarantee a hit that will stop the nova sequence.

Unless Brona got up to some flying shenanigans, I'm pretty sure Valerian would win that fight.
Oh no, that wasn't what I meant. You see, Brona and Valerian can both ignore resistances and immunities to their attacks at this point. Anything short of infinite HP is the not-really-immovable object, and they are the unstoppable force.

Ah. Well, we will, no doubt, see. It would be a shame if you were dazed constantly.

>_>

At this point, I think I can save against Daze 60% of the time at the start of my turn, actually. And I swear there was a way to crank it up even higher. Maybe I should look at Resilient Focus...being able to say 'nope, it doesn't work' at all the nasty status effects except for Immobilize would be a pretty decent deal.

EDIT: Just checked my math. Resilient Focus, Stubborn Survivor, and Focused Mind take me to 95%. If I can get a single save booster from allies, I simply don't have to worry about any status effect except immobilization. Sweet deal! If I ever run out of damage feats, obtaining Hero Hax is high up on my list.

A Buddha asks "What is the sound of one hand clapping?"
Amy asks "Would you like me to shoot the remaining hand?"

A Buddha asks "Does a dog have Buddha nature or not?"
The party asks "Can we make this dog part of our crew?"

A Buddha says "If you meet the Buddha, kill him"
The party has probably already done so.

So you see, we are just full of zen koan in our games, you just have to look in the right places. Like the universe we came from. So many dead zen people you do not even know!

'What happens when an immovable object meets an irresistible force?'

'Oh, I see, you've seen Brona and Valerian at work!'

(This was just way too easy. I love this party.)
