He says because the stakes arent sky high, and its a coming of age story, and it has a certain style its an indie movie, even though indie movies are films made by independent studios, and arent a genre or even necessarily have the same style.

But its not surprising, because he also thinks (Game of Thrones spoilers) That Jon Snow and Dany are both mass murderers because theyve killed people before, so it wasnt out of nowhere when Dany went and burned KLs citizens to death for no reason at the end, and that killing rapists/warlords/schemers is the same thing as killing a normal person.

HOLY SHIT this season was dumb

So, a list of some of the problems with the season

1) Joes ex girlfriend who he tried to murder, Candace, survives her murder by literally digging her way out of a literal grave. No further explanation is given.

2) She goes to a cop about her potential murder. He tells her theres nothing they can do about it because shes alive and maybe it would be better if she just kept playing dead forever instead of going against her murderer.

3) Candace (eventually) follows Joe to LA after scaring him out of NYC. Her plan now is to go and ruin his life without jail. This involves... dating Joes new girlfriends brother and only telling the girlfriend that Joe attempted murdered her once before going away

4) She comes back, but then quickly gets murdered, but not before telling Girlfriends Brother that Joe is bad. Finally.

5) Joe doesnt kill good people anymore. Now hes just a detective who kills the REAL bad guys.

6) Hes Dexter now, but without the ethical code

7) Anyone can kill anyone else now and hiding a body isnt a huge issue like it used to be.

If youre going to ask why I just decided not to call him, know that one time in high school, a job didnt get back to me the week they promised and my mom called them and yelled at them about why they hadnt hired me yet.

I feel like it should go on record that I once submitted a script to a producer who was the friend of my aunts boyfriend.

My mom SWORE that the producer called the boyfriend and that he told the boyfriend to tell his girlfriend to tell my mom (4 fucking degrees of separation!) that he had a job for me. When I told her that didnt make sense, that the producer had my number AND email and communicated to me on both, and would likely just go and tell me he had a job for me, my mom got upset and started crying there too, telling me that I constantly sabotaged myself, and that this guy was for sure going to offer me the 6 figure job he had that also paid to travel. And she sat in my room and stared at me until I called. Then she listened in as I talked, but stayed over my shoulder and kept telling me exactly what I had to tell the man. He likely heard her shouting.

The producer had NO idea what I was talking about. The next day, I received a letter of rejection saying that they passed on my script.

I find it hard to believe the two things were unrelated.

I kinda changed Galactus death because what was there didnt make for good fiction on its own without embellishing a bit. Ill have to do that a little more often from here on out, such as giving one particular character an extra kill or two, but make no mistake. If the character died on a specific day in the sim, theyre still set to die there in this. This is just so the entire thing is cohesive, and it like a robot used an RNG to set it up. He died due to freezing here because the PotD gods who chose him nerfed him. I dont make the rules, I swear!

Expect one or two plot progressing chapters before the nights over. These will be much shorter, but will set up everything for Day 2.

BTW, if its not in this novelization, its not canon. So characters running away from others in the Sim dont count.

Galactus speared whatever it was that was hiding, and the hissing stopped. Pulling out his weapon, he found a snake, mouth agape, eyes still staring at him despite the spear through its spine. Its skulls was at least the size of an apple, and its fangs were dropping a muscous venom. He had been told about these. Muttations. Animals designed by the game makers to give the contestants yet another thing to worry about. Something that size would seriously harm him even without its venom. He shuttered to think what would happen had it bitten him.

But suddenly, more hissing, this time from another direction. Galactus speared the spot he thought he heard it coming from, but came up empty. Suddenly two more, this time form his left. Staying here would be a foolhardy decision, he made a beeline for the lake. He tripped over another wire. And then another. Whoever had been here had made a concerted effort to make sure anyone running would go over as many as possible, and the more bells he sounded, the more snakes seemed to start hissing at him from below the snow.

Galactus bounded around a large tree, but a snake jumped out from the snow in front of him. He dodged it just in time, and reactively speared it straight through the mouth, but before he could pull it out and reclaim his weapon, another two came veering his way. This wasnt good, he had to abandon his weapon, and continued over his path.

The snow and ice did nothing to deter them, they seemed to benefit from it, in fact. The snakes that werent burrowing through the foot of snow were on top, sliding on the ice faster than he could run. He bounded forward, the lake was within his sights now, frozen over, to his dismay but being out there, on open land would be better than being in the frozen tangled woods, where the snakes all seemed to live.

In a last ditch effort, a coiled mass of snakes came at him from a tree branch, and Galactus was knocked to his feet. He balled his fist and hammered down a blow, crushing their slender bodies, before scrambling to his feet and finally getting to the frozen clearing of water.

He didnt let himself walk too far into the frozen surface once he realized that the snakes refused to leave their wooded haven. Were they programmed to behave that way, or was there some other reason? Nevertheless, they gathered en masse, forming a slithering border along the lakes edge, slowly, very slowly, coming closer, more a wall of scales than a collection of reptiles. There was no getting off the lake now, just like there was no hope of getting back to the forest. He was fully visible from all angels now. The snakes, apprehensive to journey onto the snow packed surface of the lake were the least of his long term worries.

The ice cracked beneath his feet.

Shit!

He began running again. Venture too far away from the forest, and he risked the ice cracking beneath his feet even sooner. Get too close to the border of snakes, and they couldve leaped forward and killed him with their venom.

The Hunger Games were more than a battle. It was a survival show.

The ice a few feet ahead crumbled away, and Galactus had to stop in his tracks and turn around, but before he could head in the opposite direction, he saw that he was already stranded, the ice behind him had already shattered, leaving eerie blue, frigid water sending waves over the ices surface.

And just as quickly as that had happened, the very ice beneath his feet gave out.

Galactus was sent into a shock the minute he felt the cold seep into his skin. Something below the surface was picking at his feet, sliding his boots off his feet, nipping at him. Any attempts he made at grabbing hold of the unbroken ice ahead lead to it instantly breaking off, sending him plummeting deeper into the frozen waters. And it was there, just as he finally managed to gasp for breath, he saw it. The one following him.

The small birdlike figure, Punpun Onodera.

He stared at Galactus, rope in hand, clearly aware of the power he held at this moment.

Please, Galactus screamed between chocked gasps. Help! Help!

He had wanted to say so much more. He had wanted to lie and say that he had food hidden in a cache somewhere, and weapons. But his panicking body could only mutter those two words as he was forced to take hurried breaths.

The things beneath the surface continued picking at his toes, momentarily dropping him down before releasing him, as if part of a cruel game, but in the too brief moments Galactus managed to get where he saw above the surface, he watched Punpun slowly casually, walk towards him. Was he going to be saved?

Just as Galactus went to gasp for breath again, his fingers numb beyond anything he had felt before, Galactus got a good look at Punpuns eyes.

The boy didnt care. Just watched, emotionless, as Galactus took his last breath.

The snowfall came quickly, and the battle royale quickly became a rush to gather as many resources as possible.

Leaves, once lush and green, turned brown and brittle within the hour as the inches of heavy snow crowded their branches. Birds that hadnt already hidden themselves away in tree hollows were dropping left and right, encased in shells of ice. Normally, inclimate weather would have no effect on Galactus, but the games had taken away any powers that were deemed game breaking. While he could still battle it out with the rest of the powerhouses, he couldnt magnify his size and devour the entire arena. The gamers were not on his terms.

The snow subsided, but just as quickly as it came and went, frigid rain fell from above, sapping the heat from his skin, and seeping into his clothes. He would need to find adequate shelter, and soon. He couldnt tie himself to a tree and wait out the weather, he would need to find somewhere protected, not just from the rain, but from the others.

The Cornocopia seemed like it wouldve made a great base of operations, but Galactus had felt the surging waves of power coming from a battle that had taken place there. If the winner hadnt already sequestered themselves away, surrounded by all the weapons they could use, someone else most certainly had. Going there now, without a plan or an alliance, would certainly lead to an arrow straight through the eye.

Galactus made sure to carefully travel downhill. The path was rocky, and with the sleet coating everything in ice, any minor mistake could send him tumbling down, and a single stone hitting his head on the way would be the end. It wasnt just the others he had to worry about, the terrain was possibly his biggest adversary. Not to say that he didnt plan on taking advantage of that, should he come across someone else unwilling to take him up on his offer to team up.

Longer than he wouldve liked to admit, he finally reached the base of the mountain he had initially worked so hard to climb up. If this was how the game was going to go, constantly throwing curveballs at its contestants, then his initial plan of finding a single place from which he could survey as much of the arena as possible would be much more difficult than he had anticipated. This was going to be a long, slow game, one he was determined to win.

Between his cosmic powers allowing him to sense the land, and his own viewpoint from atop the mountain, he knew exactly where he was. There was a lake just a kilometer or two from where he was, and if his senses were correct, a cave not much further from that.

He trudged onward through the snow, weary of the fact that he was leaving giant footsteps in his wake. Though his feet were growing numb, he couldnt get distracted, especially not because he heard something in the distance.

One that seemed to be following him.

A quick survey didnt seem to reveal anything. Whoever it was following him was either small, or a master of staying hidden. It wasnt worth it to go looking for a fight now, the heavy snow was tiring to get through, and his opponent was probably counting on his wearing himself out. Even Galactus himself could be taken down if he werent at 100%. That was why he needed to find food and a place to rest.

He took another step forward. His feet felt resistance. Galactus looked down. A trip wire?

Just a few feet away, a bundle of bells, hastily tied to a tree, jostled. Was this someones security signal? Whoever
set it up, was it so they would know to run or so they could know when to attack.

Armed with only a sharpened stick, Galactus was at a significant disadvantage should someone come at him with a sword, or proper spear. And if they had half decent aiming, and were armed with a bow, he would have almost no choice but to retreat. His shuffling through the snow became more intense. He went through another trip wire, and another bell sounded. He made a mental note to watch his step, and looked down, but then another string caught his torso.

More bells.

It was at this moment that he heard something. This wasnt the thing that was following him earlier. It was something else. Something hissing and rattling.

It came closer and closer.

It was from under the snow.
