It has all the melodrama you would expect out of anime, but I remember it being super palatable, and it was fun seeing the lead catch legendaries and then eventually use actual competitive strats (gimmicky ones, but still) in his fights. Like, youll sail across the ocean and see the first cutscene in the new town, and the characters explicitly say that you need to hurry to the inn, but WAIT!!!! The third step of the Dark Enforcer sidequest starts right now, so you have to sail back to the first continent, trek ALL the way across to the first city, and then watch one cutscene, and then head ALL the way back to the other continent. And if you dont do that specific step right there, you fail the sidequest and cant do it again until your next play through. Oh, and theres absolutely nothing telling you that the sidequest even started or that you can miss it --- |

| PK_Spam 12/21/18 10:24:16 AM #18 | Electric Tale of Pikachu is really interesting in its own right because it comes from a time before Pokmon really solidified itself as a brand, so adaptations were able to do whatever the fuck it wanted, which we didnt get for a looooooooong time until ~2011 when we got ReBurst, which was... a thing. It was basically Digimon Frontier where the cast transformed into Pokmon and fought, but... captured Pokmon were still a thing? There was a lot less fan service too, but most of the female cast had huge tits, and the ones who didnt show it had lots of promotional art of them in bikinis. That one didnt last very long. I could literally go on and on about Pokemons different adaptations, because it was weirdly my thing when I was 15, but nobody wants to read 20+ posts about why Adventures is a hacky manga and why it shouldnt still exist when we had stuff like Diamond and Pearl Adventure, or how it seemingly drags plotpoints and villains forEVER, but I havent kept up with the series in any serious capacity in yeeeeeeaaarrrrssss, so my info is probably outdated. Manga readers, did Surd eventually even do anything at all? I remember her having a thing during the Diamond and Pearl arc of Adventures (the names are probably getting confusing) but I dont remember reading anything about her after Black and Whites arc, which I didnt read. --- |

Misty had a very out of place bath scene where she even talks about how big they are with Pikachu. Im not kidding. Adventures is a different manga adaptation of the games. Its... fine. It gets stupidly edgy sometimes Its fine. Its my least favorite Pokmon Manga. Diamond and Pearl Adventure was legitimately good though. I have the whole series of manga back at my old house. Never got too edgy, but the stakes were always realistically high enough to keep your investment, and the main character was great, even if he was just a little kid surrounded by teenagers. --- |

And I definitely have enough money in reserve so if the worst happens and I suddenly get booted from my job, I can pay rent and comfortably eat well for at least 5 months. Im doing pretty well down here, cant complain too much about my living situation. Im actually planning on moving or on my own in a few months too. Things arent so bad when I dont have people barking at me for stupid shit. --- |
