Simple example is that a lot of 3rd world workers use Binance, a central exchange to exchange USDT for dollars because banks don't service their areas.

The question I should be asking is what have YOU heard regarding crypto?

I take it we're missing a chunk of the story from the article. Who knew he wasn't a fit for a the school and when did they find out? And did the school recognize they couldn't handle him?

People are well aware of their value. However, you have more control than you think. You can put yourself in situations that allow you to get into circles for networking or nepotism in your favor. Hell, there's the crypto world that 3rd world countries have been profiting off of immensely given how it's global and completely open to anyone to contribute to.

There are avenues to climb up, but you have to pick a lane that suits you, be focused, and ideally be committed to the point of making sacrifices and making plays most people don't do. There's a level of talent and intelligence needed, but most people play it safe and give up when met with failure; as in they don't go further beyond what their peers do and so they'll generally only have as much as their peers.

In the suit, Depas lawyers claim that Matanzas High School employees knew of his disabilities, triggers, and problem behaviors, along with his history of wrongdoings, including spitting, shoving an aide, intimidating school staff, and shouting at his teachers. It also highlights that because Depa is a large black male student, he is subjected to misperceptions and racism.

School staff aren't super human and this is the kind of behavior they're dealing with. And this isn't like 20 years ago where parents were supportive of teachers and were active in disciplining their children at home so that they were cooperative in school for teachers. The lawyer is demanding the world here.

We all know that most people had a ton of help to make it to the top, but the general sentiment of being scornful to someone who achieves their success is what angers me because wealth generation for most people is a team effort; generally across multiple generations. Your family is your biggest asset. Having them financially support your endeavor directly, them letting you live in their house while you sort yourself out and get your career going, those are all critical support that allows you to take on opportunities that normally wouldn't be available to you. The investment doesn't have to stop once you reach a legal adult status but too many people think otherwise.

But back to the topic, Elon Musk was an early internet pioneer. To see the potential in the technology and jump on board to help bring it to life always earns my respect in my book, especially as one following their footsteps with the Web3 revolution.

I envision a mobile app that allows for beta & pre-registration sign ups. Thats an easy bell to add, and it comes with whistles in the form of income from brands willing to pay for the service.

EXAMPLE 1

I think this is a brilliant idea. And you bring up a brilliant point about GameFAQs not capturing the Mobile audience. I've looked into other mobile games and was super hesitant about starting one. I watched videos of this one game, Brown Dust 2, but it didn't jive with me that I was watching a paid advertisement video. And of course when I went to the message boards, basically dead.

What shocked me even more is that I finally started a new mobile game, Blue Archive, but when I checked out the message board here, DEAD. And this is one of the bigger titles, with tons of fan art, concerts, and even an anime currently rolling.

So the idea of working with companies to allow users here to be the initial entry players sounds incredible. And this is something that always bothered me about GameFAQs; we've some incredible dedicated game fans who will analyze and document everything about games, and yet there's absolutely no communication between game fans and the developers. Yet you see AMAs on reddit and developers speak on places like neogaf/resetera. Why don't we have developers communicate on this board? They will be talking to their biggest game fans. This is something I've always wanted to rectify if I were at the helm.

And in addition, GameFAQs, despite losing out to reddit and youtube, it still has a place in being an easily indexable place for information. I still look for guides on new games I play. And I would not want to go through a video if I can get it in text.

I'm surprised at so many pessimistic and cynical responses. This is a good starting point, though you just need the opportunity to be able to implement ideas... which will come in due time.

Warren didn't "stay in," though. She dropped out mere days after most of the others dropped out, and either the day of, or only a day after, Bloomberg dropped out, and Bloomberg took votes from Biden.

She dropped out after siphoning votes from Sanders. refer to Diceheist's post #66.

Diceheist posted...
Super Tuesday is just 3 days after South Carolina. If you've already made it to the SC primary, it costs virtually nothing to just stay in for ST too.

What happened is his donors called him that night and convinced him to drop out:

And Dice's post talks about the collusion the Biden team did to consolidate votes in his favor. Warren staying in only benefited Biden. Even Trump pointed this out.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/trump-super-tuesday-biden-incredible-warren-spoiler-bloomberg-won-nothing-n1149766

He then repeatedly portrayed Warren as the "spoiler" in an apparent bid to further drive a wedge between her and Sanders and their supporters. Had Warren dropped out before Super Tuesday, Sanders "would've won a lot of states, including Massachusetts, probably Texas, definitely Minnesota. So Bernie would've won states that he lost and he lost fairly easily, but in particular Massachusetts," Trump said.
"I would imagine there are others that he would've picked up," he said of Sanders. "So, Elizabeth Warren was the single biggest factor in the election last night. It would've been a very different thing, and not in a positive way for her, in a very selfish way for her. She was very selfish, from that point of view.

You can point to Bloomberg staying in, but it no way refutes the obvious reported (and I guess legal) collusion the Biden team did. I don't understand how there are people contesting this.

All the superdelegates committed to voting to Hilary Clinton from the beginning of the 2016 primary season instead of waiting till after their respective states' primaries to divvy out votes proportionally. This limited the amount of delegates Bernie could win in each of his winning states.

The democratic party passed a rule to prevent this clear unfair act from happening in 2020, but holy hell, the coordination they did to take down Bernie. That was nothing short of surgical. As a Yang Gang fan, 2020 had me completely disillusioned to the Democratic Party with how he and Sanders were treated.

StealThisSheen posted...
I'm not sure this logic tracks. Warren and Bloomberg both stayed in until after Super Tuesday, then dropped within two days of that. Unless you mean Tulsi, but she got such a negligible amount of votes I'm not sure she'd be worth mentioning. Yes, the people who dropped endorsed Biden, but if Bernie could only win by virtue of other people staying in the race, does that really say anything?

Warren staying in siphoned votes from Bernie as they shared similar demographics despite Bernie being on the winning end. It was so clear that Warren's inclusion sabotaged Bernie that even Trump had to tweet to blame Warren for screwing him over.

And this isn't to say that there aren't localizers that you can tell are passionate about the work they do. Off the top of my head, the Zero Escape series had the localizers coordinate with the Director Uchikoshi throughout the entirety of development (it's a murder mystery so you gotta get stuff right), NEO: TWEWY the localizers did a great job. Heck, for the prequel (different team), the developers loved the line "The world ends with you" so much that they made that the English title.

So they're turning the military on their own citizens after all.

I'd have to look up how we went from banks issuing their individual notes to a single currency used by the entire nation. I believe Lincoln did greenbacks? It escapes my memory. But I don't know how they convinced the populace to use the US dollar, but at the time it was backed by silver. Then we moved to be backed by gold in the 1940's, but then the US started printing more US dollars into circulation than gold they had in reserves and got called out on it in the 1960's or early 1960's and that's what caused the push to become the petrodollar, the currency used for oil trades.

But generally, US citizens benefit from a powerful dollar so there's not much of a need to use the military to force adoption. The military comes into play for persuading other countries, especially oil rich countries who don't want to use the US dollar as the currency for trade.

Bitcoin (released 2009)- the first demonstration of digital currency and a separate payment network that anyone can use without needing to go to some authority to receive access. At a bank you need to submit relevant paperwork, with Bitcoin you just download the software for a wallet and you're good to go for a network scoping the entire world. This is powerful as not everyone has access to a bank in their area.

Nowadays, people in 3rd world countries use the Ethereum network and get paid in USDT, USD Tether, a stablecoin pegged to the dollar (1 USDT== 1 USD). But the bitcoin pioneered the technology.

Ethereum (white paper released 2014)- Early bitcoin maximalists, diehard bitcoin fans, had grand dreams for the bitcoin network. You had a financial network that has effectively 100% up time. Bonafide digital assets in the bitcoin (you can't copy/paste a bitcoin like you can copy/paste MP3 files; move 1 BTC from wallet A to wallet B and it will no longer be at Wallet A), so what else can you do with the network? People wanted to put programs on the bitcoin network; accessible to everyone with 100% up time. Turns out you couldn't program shit on the bitcoin network. So disgruntled and frustrated maximalists moved on and created new projects to achieve their vision. Ethereum was among them and with the most exciting vision of becoming the world's decentralized computer as a generalized blockchain platform to host all these programs and protocols people dreamt of.

Ethereum has since grown considerably as the defacto platform for blockchain development. They've recreated a number of traditional financial services with such effectiveness to the point of catching traditional finances attention and have them wanting in.

Unified Golden Record (2023-present) - But here's the problem with Ethereum, first; because of how security is prioritized, the transaction processing speed is too slow. VISA handles something like 40K transactions per second (don't recall the exact number, but it doesn't matter). Ethereum handles 12 per second (this problem has been solved to an extent with layer 2 blockchains that inherit Ethereum's security). Then there's an even bigger issue of it turning out that the libertarian cryptopunks heading the core development of Ethereum, once they have a taste of power, they're not letting that shit go. And so they supported what's called Miner Extractable Value, or MEV. Simply put, for every transaction you make in purchasing a token, a miner will see the transaction you're making and essentially buy it before you to sell to you at a higher price. It's basically theft.

So Banks' response to this is to fork Ethereum and use their own version. However, each bank has their own blockchain. Hundreds of banks means hundreds of private blockchains. More importantly, the NFT craze everyone laughed at? That also caught the eye of banks. AND they have the technology to link an NFT to a real world asset so that NFTs properly represent the RWA as tokens on the blockchain. So right now for banks, the focus is on deploying out these "tokenized RWAs" for trade and use in the industry. It's a financial revolution.

The current direction for public and permissionless blockchains, like Ethereum, waiting for the next craze, ideally real projects that provide real value, but it'd likely be new applications that are designed to be used on multiple blockchains simultaneously and connected seamlessly. Cross decentralized applications or Xapps, the evolution of dapps.

I speedran the history and painted the future somewhat grim with the dominance of bank chains. But the industry is super exciting. It's the next evolution of the internet. The key to understanding the value of blockchains is to understand the power of smart contracts (...which not once did I talk about this). I think that's the hardest thing to wrap your head around. But if you can understand the potential of it then you can understand why so many developers are committing their lives to the industry and be able to filter out those who are merely in it for a quick buck.
