Iron Man: The original, no one thought it was gonna be so good and kickstart a whole big universe.
The Avengers: It fulfilled Iron Man's promise and kicked the MCU into high gear.
Winter Soldier: The peak, probably never to be surpassed.
Infinity War: Personally I think it was dissapointing, but it was the climax and where they had intended to lead to in the first place. Road has been patchy and uncertain from there on, including Endgame.

Original: standard, 8 playable characters
Turbo: faster, adds 4 bosses as playable characters
Super: same speed as original, adds 4 characters
Super Turbo: Same number as Super but keeps Turbos speed, adds Akuma as secret boss/character

Also different ending images and character portraits, different sounds, different intros, changes in backgrounds, shotos reigning supreme in World Warrior, WW been slower than even the other normal speeds, Guile reigning supreme in Champion Edition, Super having a different announcer and more modes, Super Turbo having the super meter and been the version that uses your face as a mop...

I picked SotN cause that's grandma tier of difficulty, but then I remembered you could choose Gon in Tekken 3, hold towards opponent, smash O, and defeat the entire game, and takes much less time as well.

That ain't making it any better! Specially cause I ain't even sure if I'd put the more deserving Super Metroid in for this one.

Now SNES, wow, this is tough

I'll have to think about this cause it was Street Fighter II: The World Warrior the game that really put the console on top, the first big arcade experience at home, the game everybody wanted. But then there's SMW, DKC, LttP, Super Metroid, which were also pretty big on their own.

PS1 era Tomb Raiders were the gameplay sequels of classic Prince of Persia, another iconic franchise. It was the other side of the 3D platforming evolution opposite of Mario 64, with more realistic physics and AA leaning. I actually think it was its best moment cause exploration and careful strategies on how to actually get to hard to reach places was huge. Later on it became press A to get to point B.

There wasn't too much that SotN added to the genre that Super Metroid hadn't already before. Even as a 2D game, fighting games were holding up that legacy higher.

there was discourse about this earlier but short version I feel multiplats are generally fine if they are still associated heavily with that system in particular. none of the Resident Evils were exclusive to the PS1 (either from the get go or for long) but nobody really thinks of the Saturn when they think of RE1! Even Symphony of the Night got a Saturn port. Obviously that goes for Tomb Raider too.

Sure, but Tomb Raider was released almost simultaneously on the PS1/PC/SAT (RE1 in the SAT was a year late, and so was SotN... in Japan), and not only that, but I consider the PC version to be easily the best. However the PS1 was the one that got more popular. It's just that it's a tight race between RE1/TR/CB so any small reason can work against their inclusion.

It feels wrong not to have Tomb Raider, Lara is easily associated with the console, but I have trouble including cause it was multiplat, even though the PS1 release was perhaps the most popular.

I do think, and maybe this is a hot take, but the huge agreement on the four here kinda shows that the N64 first party lineup was not so hot relative to other Nintendo consoles. Its Nintendos weakest despite having some absolute classics. Just lacks the volume of their other systems.

Or that these games are really that strong. The 4P games here were must play multiplayer games of their time and none of these would look bad on a 5th gen Rushmore either.

DMC is great but GoW is the one that really took off as a franchise, plus when you think of Sony consoles, Kratos is more associated with it rather than Dante.
