Wow. What an awful precedent to set. So much for edgy and attitude and whatever. Now all heels are going to be wusses because they'll be scared for their jobs.

Well it wasn't something WWE necessarily WANTED to do. Apparently they had the authorities on their ass about it and promised to handle it in-house so as to not have Jericho get arrested.
It's not just Brazil though. JBL got in big trouble with the authorities in Germany for goose-stepping during a match, and Finlay got fired for booking Miz to interrupt the national anthem here in America because the National Guard threw a fit and they're a big sponsor.

Regardless, I'm pretty sure this incident probably killed any pipe dream in the near future of Wrestlemania in Rio, one of the few exotic locales they could do WM in that's still in a reasonable time zone.

Tensai failed to impress WWE officials in his pinfall victory over John Cena on the April 16 Raw SuperShow in London, England and was deemed "a flop" as a result. He was initially pegged to face Cena at the company's Over the Limit and No Way Out pay-per-view events but his poor showing in the main event match led to his push being curtailed and Big Show taking his place. WWE also canceled plans for summer live events to be headlined by Tensai and John Laurinaitis vs. Cena, instead replacing the former tattoo artist with Big Show.
Though Tensai has yet to be defeated on television, he suffered his first pinfall loss before a WWE crowd in a dark match following Monday's Raw SuperShowto Cena. He is being largely relegated to WWE Superstars while his character is retooled. He has already undergone tweaks as he appeared sans robe, competed more aggressively and had his named modified within the past two weeks. More changes could be in the works as there was talk this past week of additional modifications.

I thought for sure that this was Orton's second "second violation", but apparently not. Despite having been suspended THREE times in the past for drug-related stuff, only ONE of those was technically a Wellness Policy violation.

I'm not sure where they get their "Tensai failed to impress" statistic from exactly. Like who are the judges, here?
Probably from the fact that he literally gets no reaction. And then when people do bother to make any noise during his matches, it's to chant "Aaaaaaalbert". He's the most boring thing to watch live, I promise you.

Honestly, I think it was way too early to call it failed. Not only is it an impossible gimmick, they immediately aligned him with Laurinitis who absolutely everyone hates.
He was given no opportunity to succeed.

wwe.com has a poll right now: long reign vs. multiple wins. I think it's time we sorted this out.
For me, both are important, as well as the total number of defences.
I want to come up with an appropriate formula for how good a Champion someone is overall - some kind of formula that takes into account days as champion, number of total defences, and number of reigns. So rather than saying "Punk is a 5-time world champ" or "he's held the WWE title for six months", I want a proper system that takes both of those things, as well as taking into account how many times he's defended it. That said, I don't think losing by DQ or countout would count towards a "successful defence", so there's that.

"I am the best in the world at everything I do, and I don't have to write it on the back of a T-Shirt to prove it, because I AM it." - Chris Jericho
Wrestler X is a two-time world champion Wrestler X has held a world title for 200 days Wrestler X has successfully defended world titles 14 times
2R 14D 200D
200x2x14=5600
Is that too simple? Do they deserve the same weighting?

since mines is Devil may cry i probley would it up to the spiderboss and get killed off after that then ill yell LIGHT - ertyu on how far he'd make it in DMC
Punk isn't hardline straight edge. He will use prescription drugs as prescribed. I assume anesthetic would also qualify.
It's a lifestyle choice, not saying "I believe in being drug free SO MUCH that it will be a detriment to my health in the event a doctor tells me I need them."

I think 'successful defenses' would be hard to find complete information for, especially for old school guys. I'm assuming that one of the reasons you want a system is to compare guys like Sammartino and Backlund to guys like Orton and Edge. I say try the first two, and see how it goes.

You pretty much NEED to be out during a surgery because if you flinch you could really f*** things up.
Oh come on, they amputated limbs in the civil war by holding you down and giving you something to bite on!
Anyway, we all know that the only acceptable measurement is "total days as world champion." Holding a secondary world title counts for half a day for each day held.
