I just caught up and have so many feeling about Watamote.

The anime was great, but the place it decided to stop really did a disservice to the general perception of this series.

That's my current plan with Mob, too. I'm waiting on reading a few things in anticipation of future seasons, like Mob and Promised Neverland. Currently on volume 5 of the Oregairu LNs and I'm not sure whether I should read past where season 2 ended, with season 3 coming up.

I've knocked out most of the source material for upcoming series I'm excited about, save for LN based stuff. Once I'm done with Mob, it'll be Vinland, the most daunting of these being a full size monthly at 162 chapters. Next season is going to be something else, might even surpass Winter.

There's just an OVA announced for Mob though. Solid chance it never get an S3, especially since S2 seemed to be less popular than S1 in Japan.

This one was an adventure. I like it just slightly more than Shield Bro. I fucking LOVE the production and how each episode starts with credits, and how each episode kind of has an ending music montage that's different from your average ED.

The one with Puck glaring down at the headless Subaru holding Rem was absolutely fucking haunting.

Yeah that one was wild. Honestly it was shocking just how many episodes sacrificed the opening and ending for just those extra few minutes of content.

Also I love that Subaru has never actually unlocked any secret powers or special abilities to make himself OP. He's just getting by on his sheer force of will and desire to do his best. When the rest of the alliance wanted to give up against the White Whale, here's this smiley little bastard who can't swordfight or do really any magic at all... shouting and leading the charge against THREE of them. He's the best.

The description is a bit misleading, since by the end of the video it's not so much "it may not look great but it's fine", and more "it's not great and looks bad, but people are still watching it, and all the most well known anime is churned out with low quality animation anyways".

Which is upsetting but factual.

I do agree with him about how shockingly good the CG centipede in episode 4 was, which makes how embarrassingly awful the rest of the episode looked all the more jarring. That was a movie quality centipede.

Don't mean to beat a dead horse, but the way I see it, if the animation isn't good there's no reason to engage it as an anime. It's not like it has particularly good music or VA work either. Even the OP is bad, other than the song. Just read the manga.

I mean, unless you're number one deciding factor with a bullet is that it's in COLOR, there's no value here.

Actually, there is another reason now that I think about it. Wanting to experience it with someone else. There's something to be said for wanting to watch OPM season 2 with a group of people or a friend, that's something that won't be the same with the manga. But alone? Naw, worthless.

Take Baki for example. I had a good time watching this with my roomate because it was fun reacting to it with them, but if I'm being completely honest....it's a super bland adaptation that adds nothing, other than a good soundtrack. I would have never in a million years continued to watch this for myself after reading the manga, and I know this from the incredibley vast difference in my engagement having watched season 1 before reading and watching season 2 after reading, and realizing the anime was just a 1 to 1 copy paste from the manga with no flair whatsoever, really not much different than a motion comic.

Now, there are some people out there who just don't want to read manga, and I get that. If that's how you feel, not much I can say. But cases like Baki and OPM2 are clear examples of a still image manga having better "animation" than an actual anime.

Hopefully it'll actually be well animated this time and not just churned out in a couple months, cause the first season was mediocre to say the least. Although to be fair, it's not something which requires exceptional animation, and the VAs were decent.

So, this just really really is not something I'm actively watching for at all when I'm watching anime.

Kinda funny you didn't notice any subpar animation, since most viewers said one episode looked way better than the others.

Also with Kids on the Slope are you talking about art style or animation because those are very different things and the instrument animation in Slope was pretty freaking amazing.

I often wonder if I would still be as repulsed by Flowers of Evil as I was when it aired. I've yet to go back and take another look.

Of course, I took more issue with the principle of distorting the look of the source material to such a degree, felt a little insulting.

It should be noted though the movie is a sequel to the recap trilogy films that came out the last few years and not necessarily a sequel to the tv anime. There's one big difference between the two in that Shirley doesn't die so she's alive in this movie
