I finally watched and finished Circlet Princess, and I think it turned out to be worth the wait. I go to look up why, and sure enough, the director of every Symphogear season except the original also directed Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's. This also explains why Hibiki's transformed Gungnir from Symphogear G onwards has a scarf that looks almost exactly like Junk Warrior's. It all makes sense now.
