After briefly researching this a bit further, now I am concern bout wanting to upgrade to a 32" 1440p monitor with a R9 380 GPU. What is your opinion regarding 32" 1080p monitors? My current monitor is a 27" 1080p if that matters.

How much does the best graphics card cost right now?

Between cryptomining, chip shortages, scalpers, and possibly new PC builders from people staying home cause of COVID, the top end GPUs (i.e. GTX 3090 / RX 6900 XT) could be in the $2k-3k range.

Even the previous generations of GPUs (i.e. GTX 1000 / 2000 series, RX 500 / 5000 series) are going for 2-3x their normal cost, whether new or used.

I thought Paladin Quest felt rough but that could very well just because I did not utilize the gameplay correctly. I did find it interesting and odd to combine MP with HP. I recall spells get stronger with use so my first healing spell costed more HP to cast than the amount it healed.

Anyway, just something to think about since most people don't give af about abusing animals so long as that abuse isn't sexual.

On a somewhat related note, I find it interesting that some would judge other cultures/regions for eating the "wrong" type of animal but sees nothing wrong with their own culture should the situation ever be reversed.

Plus there are weird scaling issues with 1440p sometimes, since it is a weird stop gap resolution similar to 720p.

Thank you for the insight. I can understand how GPUs will be strained more at higher resolutions but can you please elaborate bout the scaling issue with 1440p and 720p? How noticeable is this?

On an unrelated note. My first monitor in the late 90s/early 2000s was either a 15" or 17" CRT. I cannot imagine using that nowadays. I played World of Warcraft yay back and with the amount of addons on my screen, I barely saw what is happening during a boss fight.

Darn it. If there is an IP whose universe and lore I might love more than Warcraft, it would be Dungeons and Dragons. Baldur's Gate II and to some extent Planescape Torment got me hooked.

Assuming I have the skills/experience to survive and do more than just manual labor, I would be torn between World of Warcraft, Stars Wars: The Old Republic, and Star Trek Online.

Given the supposed utopia of the Star Trek universe (assuming I am not a "redshirt "), that might be the more ideal choice.

I am currently playing Final Fantasy XIV but I think I am still more in love with the world and lore of the Warcraft universe than Eorzea despite having not played WoW in years.

I can vouch for LG making quality monitors. My last monitor was an LG and it survived twenty years before it turned off and never came back on.

LG has been my go-to since my first LED monitor some 15+ years ago. My current/second is a LG 27" monitor. https://tinyurl.com/t3wfp4br. Bought in 2015 and still trucking along.

That looks nice, but in the description it says there is a newer version available. Is it worth it to get the new version?

I think the newer version is a 165Hz version. I personally might consider paying the extra $50 since I tend to use the same monitor for years.

But my existing monitor of six years is still alive and my priority is getting either a RX 5000 or 6000 series GPU, hopefully by the end of this year for something closer to MSRP price. *crosses fingers*

So an attempt at sweeping stuff under the rug or out of sight, out of mind mentality?

I live in Los Angeles County and about 10-15 miles from Downtown Los Angeles. I am willing to support programs to help the homeless but I am truly stump on what would really make a difference regarding said issue. I have read/heard stories from former street dwellers about how mental issues are a major thing and said people must want to seek help instead of help being given/forced on them.

I have read meaningful and detailed explanation from others on what probably needs to be done but I still cannot help but feel a lot of these good ideas are only ever good on paper. Even then, I feel we still gotta try.

Given the homelessness situation in Los Angeles, who is this ordinance truly meant to punish? I have heard of folks who are homeless but not jobless, for various reasons. But I doubt said ordinance is meant to target those with an income and unable to find affordable housing.

EDIT: I have read/heard of the homeless not wanting to seek homeless shelters for whatever reason. Not feeling safe, stuff getting stolen, etc. But I still doubt said ordinance is meant to encourage folks to seek whatever social programs that exist, assuming said program is not overwhelmed.

Four lane street. Two ways. Southbound side is fairly backed up. Northbound side has a car in the left lane attempting to turn-left into a parking lot (which turns out to actually be a U-turn) and holding up one northbound side lane. We are not at an intersection. I am in the southbound lane.

Light turn green on southbound side. Since southbound side is slow going, I let a gap form so said car can finally turn left and free up that lane.

Neither left-turn or U-turn were legal moves and if anything I was also holding up my lane even if just a few seconds. I was just trying to help out the folks in the northbound side from this idiot of a driver while also doing something idiotic in return.

Realistically I am only responsible for myself and probably shoulda just kept moving even if it meant this other car continuously blocking the lane.

I use to play violin in middle school, high school, and college. Was thinking to switch to electric piano but now am entraining the thought to learn to play the tin whistle / penny flute. There are some Gaelic music I might want to learn.

I kinda go with the flow despite being fully vaccinated. Feels odd not to wear one and I cannot help but wonder if those around me are simply not fully vaccinated, feel more comfortable wearing a mask, or not aware masks are not required if vaccinated. As a precaution I carry my vaccination card but I doubt I would be required to show proof when out and about.

I wear a solar powered analog and digital watch for both time and backup compass.

I go backpacking occasionally and depending on the type of trip, would have my phone off and use a digital camera instead for photos.

I played through both solo and co-oped with a friend. I wanna say co-oping with my friend was more fun but that mighta also be due to me being more experienced the second time around and knew what I was doing with my characters, leveling up spells, etc.

I work as an engineer. I am already accustomed to 11-12 hours on Monday thru Thursday and 7-8 hours on Friday. I would love it if our office is closed on Friday. Official hours are 6 AM thru 10 AM and in practice, projects may not even go out by 10 AM on Friday.

Please tell us how the experience is like. My cousins ate at a two Michelin stars and three Michelin stars (or was it one Michelin star and two Michelin stars?) restaurants in France. According to my cousin, he thought the "lesser" of the two was a better experience and worth the money. The extra cost involved for the higher of the two, did not seem worth it.

Not exactly comparable to any Michelin star restaurant but I would say these two have been the fanciest/favorites of mine. Gordon Ramsay Steak in Las Vegas, NV and Alexander's Steakhouse in Pasadena, CA.

I entertained the thought of going to Sukiyabashi Jiro in Japan but I think at this point one needs to have a certain hotel reservation to even have a chance of getting reservations.

Worse, if you actually want to get noticed, you basically have to produce content on a VERY regular basis, to the point of conflicting with an actual regular job.

I have a few favorites regarding archery, home repairs, woodworking, fixing cars, farm life, cooking, etc. Some have been creating YouTube content long enough that there is a good chance they already created a video addressing a question I have.

I would imagine they can create only so much new content regarding said hobby before they have to start expanding and losing focus on what originally drew me to their channel. That or I severely underestimate how much someone can talk about a certain hobby without repeating the same topic.

I would imagine Disney want to minimize potential COVID related lawsuits as much as possible. If safety protocols are somehow not sufficient for whatever reason, how useful is that "By visiting Walt Disney World, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19" warning to ward off lawsuits? What about signing waivers prior to entry?

My manager have kinda asked me to stop using "Good morning/afternoon" when addressing clients. He and most of our clients start their emails with just the name of the person they are addressing but there are some who still uses "Hello", "Hi", "Good morning/afternoon", etc.

Are you referring to Terminator Salvation? Sorry for not being clear. I meant focusing on the war after John takes lead and the movie ending with Reese being sent back thus coming full circle back to The Terminator.

Basically the beginning part of Terminator Genisys being the entire movie without the reboot.

I forgot which coin/value it was. Mighta been the older half dollar coins or dollar coins. I only recall them being unique for being slightly larger, thicker, and heavier than most coins. My mother deposited a bunch of coins once and supposedly one of the bankers mistaken the roll for quarters.

If/when certain coins or bills are removed from circulation (i.e. getting rid of the penny), I do wonder how much of the a headache it might be when various consumers are slowly bringing em in /spending em.

With the direction Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines went, I was really hoping Terminator Genisys would focus on the war and come full circle back to Terminator 1 instead of the reboot. I actually enjoyed Terminator: Dark Fate but wished it had a stronger tie-in to the existing films.

And no, I do not mean sex toys.

Despite their reduced suction power, I am finding cordless vacuums rather useful and have been looking at various Tineco and Dyson models. Of course these cost a pretty penny but my sister has offered to help pay for one as a birthday gift. If I had told my younger self I would be looking at vacuum reviews, he probably would laugh.

I thought about camping gear, kitchenware, or power tools but I am picky about these so actually prefer people do not get me anything related to these.

What adult gifts would you want nowadays?

Still not sure if I wanna stay with charge blade, go back to sword & sword, or switch to something else. Light bow gun has usually been my secondary weapon. Maaaybe I would make it my main this time but I tend to prefer a melee being my first weapon.

I thought about great sword but think I play a whee bit too defensive and I recall the great sword kinda requires knowing the monsters' move sets well enough to know when to attack versus going on the defensive.

Suggestions?

Well, in Southern California most of the freeways have names. You don't usually say I-5 or I-405 etc, you normally would say "the Golden State", "the San Diego", "the Harbor", "the Long Beach", "the Garden Grove", "the Foothill", etc.

I often forget these freeways have names. Most people I converse with just refer to the number and only occasionally are the names used.
