Does s/s have botw standard graphics? No. Does s/s have botw standard enviroments? No. Does s/s bring something new to the game to the extent botw did? No Does s/s have as good movement and transversal options as botw? No Does s/s have dialogue on the same level as botw, a primarily single character game with sparse npcs and barely any story? I'm willing to admit I could be guessing wrong, but I guess very heavily no. The immersion there really comes down to how detailed they go, which I doubt is much - though, at the same time, more focus on immersion means more time with each individual Pokemon's animations which means less Pokemon, apparently. So, right now, it seems like there are sacrifices in both directions. The behavior isn't detailed enough (I'd want to see Pokemon interacting in specific ways, not simply wandering around) while also still requiring a certain amount of effort that is taking up resources. Which is why I like the idea of a simpler battle-focused app while the main games go all in on bringing the world to life - but they really have to do more effort to justify it. I want to watch Zangoose duke it out with Seviper, Tauros stampeding through the field, all of that. It seems there will be less Pokemon in Sword and Shield than last gen had. On top of that they're apparently cutting Megas and Z-moves. Dynamax and raid battles are some new features, but we always had some new features. The Switch is stronger than the 3DS. There needs to be something that makes up for it, it needs to feel worth it.
