But that would require you to play on handheld mode just to evolve Inkay so it's not really smart either

Actually why change it, just make Inkay not available in the Galar dex, why bother with the extra work!

They don't need to remove Day/Night to prevent the evolutions. For example, Golbat just couldn't involve into Crobat in FRLG until after you got the National Dex.

They sorta learned their lesson for HGSS though and added a few of the things like Tangrowth to the regional dex instead of removing Ancient Power from Tangela's movepool. It was still bad they kept stuff like the Dusk Stone or Razor Claw til the end though.

That might be able to work here. Of course, there's no way Meltan's evolution method could work in the mainline games. Tying an evolution method to Pokemon GO is pretty dumb and would absolutely have to be changed in the mainline games. It's quite possible that Meltan will eventually receive an event distribution for the mainline games, allowing it to be obtained by players who don't play Pokemon GO.

Sometimes they do. For example, Morimoto said they are finally nerfing Moody in Sword/Shield. Caving on the Pokedex issue isn't really something they can do at this point without a very, very lengthy delay. There wouldn't be any work done on the missing Pokemon because they were never meant to be in the game. Even if they do cave in here, it just kicks the problem of having to make too many Pokemon each game down the line a few years.

It was a one off comment by Morimoto that Moody was getting nerfed during the Japanese Nationals for Pokemon VGC. He didn't how how it was getting nerfed. If you look at Dark Void, Gamefreak is not above nerfing things into the ground.

It has a chance to increase evasion by 2 levels. Hit that once and suddenly you became a massive pain to deal with. And since the increase is more than the decrease, you'll just keep getting better if you live long enough.

And yeah, they didn't need to nerf Dark Void so much. Either make it exclusive to Darkrai or lower to accuracy. Both was just overkill. Or they could've made it single target, since VGC is where it was really a problem.

They wouldn't even have to delay the game. The Pokemon wouldn't be available at launch regardless of if they were programmed or not, since Home isn't launching until at least two months later. They just have to keep working/outsourcing after the game goes gold to patch them in for when Home launches (or later, just announce it upfront that they're coming later/they're coming in waves/whatever).

It's luck based and sometimes lets Smeargle shut down the opponent's team in Doubles. Most of Smeargle's stats don't matter so if you get bad Moody rolls you just play normally. Smeargle is still perfectly viable even without good Moody boosts.

If you hit +Speed, Smeargle is now a high speed Pokemon with access to Spore (sometimes Lovely Kiss to hit Grass types). If you hit +Evade, you can try to evade tank via Follow Me or get unpunished Spores.

In Singles, I believe it is considered too easy to farm boosts with Protect and Sub. It's always possible you just get bad boosts anyways but you probably get something useful. The boosts can also be Baton Pass'd to start a sweep.

Yeah I mean they changed Milotic in Gen 5 when they got rid of Beauty stats so I don't see any reason they need to include funky stuff like the special environments for Glaceon, Leafeon, Probopass, etc to evolve in. And they'll have to do something for Inkay to evolve into Malamar while the console is docked.

They could just make all the Eevees use one of the stones, since there's one that fits all of them now. As for Inkay, the Joycons and Pro Controller have motion tracking in them, so you'd just have to turn whatever you're using upside down if the system is docked.

Yeah that was pretty ridiculous, the pro controller should've worked and functioned the same as handheld mode, but at the very least the game didn't need to automatically turn off any connected pro controllers, I mean jfc
