She's unpopular in most districts in the US except the one that matters: her district. She's extremely popular in her district as she won basically 70-30.

Yes, that means most people in that district are just as stupid as her. Yes, I'm generalizing.
This reminds me of the time that sponge and starfish turned themselves in to the police on National Free Balloon Day for stealing a balloon on that day.

In a functioning society, anyone even suggesting this would be removed from office or denied the ability to run for office at best, or preferably in fucking prison

Too many people (mainly White voters) still consistently vote and support Republicans and they're still a significant majority of the USA population. Until about 10% or 15% stops voting for them consistently, Republicans will always be around.

The only Tales game I didn't finish.

The characters were just so off putting minus Natalia. I got to thd 3rd act and realized I really don't care about the story and characters. Anise, her whole character and arc was horrendous.

I know my experience isn't what most people felt when playing TotA.

Most of those people don't give a shit about wars halfway across the world, and holding them up from their three o'clock certainly isn't incentivizing the cause. And what of emergency services? I hope they all get punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Not to mention the sheer optics. Barely been a few weeks since the Maryland bridge collapse and you know know that thought is on people's minds when they have to cross a bridge on their commute.

Oh and that march picture clearly shows that you didn't read just how much planning went into their protests. They made sure alternate routes were available and made efforts to minimize disruption while maintaining clear optics on what attainable goals they wanted.
The fact people ignore Hamas (the closest thing to an official state government) said they have no obligation to protect their civilians and purposefully put them in harm's way to maximize the outrage on civilian deaths is just astounding. Then, it's pretty much all but certain the rest of the hostages are dead hence why their declinations on past ceasefire attempts.

Netanyahu and Ben Gvir are getting chopped and the Israeli government is even looking to expedite election season to get them out sooner. Now on thre Palestine side, there is no saving them since after the war ends and Hamas is still in power, civilians will still be terrorized by Hamas. Palestine is something other Middle Eastern nations ain't actually trying to help due to past history in helping them. I don't see a particularly good future for Palestine.
Guessing Lieberman dying also killed this "movement". Good.

The major cites are blue but we have several hundreds of counties, that are really small towns some so small, less than a hundred people living there

and since the electoral college is by county it why we always lose

Increasing turnout in those blue areas could be the key. That's what happened in Georgia. Supercharge the blue areas to outweigh the red.

Ok, withdraw all funding from the state.

Texas Republicans would be more than willing to pass news laws that would tax TX residents to fund their immigration shit.

I wonder how Republican Latinos in Texas will react once they start getting targeted. There are quite a large number too, iirc about 50% of Latinos in Texas are and vote Republican.

If Trump loses even 5% of the White elderly vote, Republicans will get blown out up and down ballot.

People missed a key word in that tweet: "could".

With bills and laws, a single word placement can heavily alter how its enforced.

The way I interpret this is that TikTok and other social media outlets should be on high alert about user safety and widespread misinformation and disinformation.

The fact that 4 months ago random dumbasses were spreading Osama Bin Laden's letter as a praiseworthy gospel truth that reached millions before the truth of the letter could spread.
Down ballot Republicans looking at this news in swing states and districts.
At first I thought him dying at 68 was so sudden while not young, it's still earlier on the death age range.

Then finding out he was that heavy of a smoker explains or rather makes it make more sense on how he died at 68.

And you think the Republican voters who turned out were Katie Porter voters who got flipped to conservative? Get real. While I agree it's kinda dirty, that's what politics is, and it's no different from when Dems donated money to Todd Akin to help him win his primary to be an easier opponent in November, which was a celebrated tactic at the time.
Katie could've done a better job turning out this supposed "progressive vote" that seems to have trouble proving itself to exist, and it wouldn't have mattered. Him propping up a R should've been amazing campaign fodder for her to drive the vote, too.
Schiff wanted the R in 2nd place so he'd have an easy general election, it didn't help him win the primary. If anything, as the most moderate of the 3 Dems, he sacrificed some of his own potential votes now b/c he figured he had a better chance w/ Lee splitting the vote now than 1 v 1 w/ Katie later. I don't know how anyone can think it helped him in the primary, it was to push his toughest rival out of 2nd place.

With the benefit of hindsight, it looks like Schiff didn't even need to worry about Porter, he had such a wide lead over her in the 4-way, it was probably in the bag for a 1 v 1 considering the vast majority of the R votes would either not vote at all or vote for him over her.

Both of them running for the seat was always a colossal fuck up, I didn't know the ramifications. She should've kept holding her House seat that to her credit she guarded quite well in a very tough district. I guess now the best thing for her to do is to campaign for her Dem replacement hopeful and then look for a new spot to run next time, like governor or something.

The hilarious thing is that Garvey is at such a disadvantage going forward.

The CA state GOP is basically dead and broke. The only win those deep red districts here in the state.

He doesn't have much of a war chest compared to Schiff. Republicans policies are worse than toxic in not red districts in this state in terms of voter appeal.

Schiff can actually afford to donate his money to othet Democrats running in tighter races.

The unfortunate thing about Porter is that she's killing her political goodwill at a scary pace with this. Some of her supporters are basically telling her to get away from the cameras and social media and chill out for a bit then come back.

Schiff is easily going to win the seat; it wouldve been much more competitive if it was Schiff vs Porter. And that doesnt take away from the fact that everyone can tell youre posting in bad faith to elicit reactions rather than to have any worthwhile discussions.

I pretty much agree with you. The only part would disagree is the competitiveness if it was Schiff vs. Porter. There would've been too many disadvantages that Porter would've had to overcome to make it a fight.

I don't agree with your assumption about me. But nothing we can do about that.

Of course you do, thats your schtick. Reality isnt important when youre dedicated.

Yeah he makes it real obvious hes not making honest posts

Reality: Adam Schiff won the primary. Katie Porter lost the primary. Barbara Lee lost the primary.

Reality: Katie Porter throwing temper tantrums because she didn't get what she want. Which she has done behind the scenes in Congress especially towards other Democrats.

Reality: Barabara taking the loss graciously and boosting her replacement so she can win the seat that Lee can't run for due to running for the Senate.

Check your own reality or sense of reality that you may or may not have before coming for me on some nonsense.

The game is specifically rigged against progressives and leftists and for people who are more likely to play ball with the people doing the rigging though. A post like this aggressively misses the point. The game itself is the problem because of how its structured and what its meant to do.

It's hard to be a great campaigner when you running at all is presented as anywhere from impudent to traitorous and the media and party apparatus immediately lines up behind your safe opponent. This is not to excuse progressives who genuinely do a bad job as often happens, but lets be real about what's happening here.

So we're just going to ignore that a lot of voters in California just didn't like or trust her based on her own actions we've seen and heard on Capitol Hill?

Fuck Adam Schiff

That ire should go to Ms. Porter for running a mess of a campaign and making no friends.

She lost most Black voters in California with her disrespect towards Maxine Waters. Despite what people say online, a lot of CA voters were already wary of her due to Dianne Feinstein's circumstances.

The fact Porter lost her own district is telling.
Meanwhile Barbara Lee conceded and congratulated Schiff on his win and she's already helping the Democrat candidate who's running for her seat.

Sinema has a replacement in the senate while Coal Joe Manchin is a lost seat

no tears should be shed for either sellout

Unfortunately, Manchin was the best we could get in a place like West Virginia. Anyone even a smidge left of Manchin had no shot of winning.
Side note, she was struggling to keep the Bronx side of herself on check. Understandably so.
The fact she even says they're just going to clip whatever she says and take it out of context shows that knows these protestors are full of shit.

The fact they're targeting her of all people also shows how foolish they are. The one congressperson who is deep on their side.
shockthemonkey posted...
The real reason is as simple as shes not gonna win re-election

Every AZ state poll and my assumption internal polling showed her losing badly to Gallego and Lake in a 3 way race. While still losing in a head to head against one or the other.

She really burnt her bridges with the AZ state Democrat party to the point that more Democrats in AZ despise more her than Republicans. Which is even more hilarious in hindsight due to just strong the AZ state party has become in such a short time.

Mitch was very effective at maximizing Republicanss chances of achieving their goals. This will hurt the GOP.

We know Rick Scott was trying to get that position.

With him in charge of Republican Senate stuff, we can guarantee he's gonna be skimming off the top of any money that flows from the Senate Republicans side.

Basically, Republicans are going to slowly cannibalize themselves financially.
Considering how rogue these Republicans are nowadays, a new Republican Senate leader will be eaten up and spat out pretty quickly for not being extreme enough.
Someone said this was the real life version of Krabbyland.
Ever since the 4 for 4 became more than $6, Wendy's appeal has dropped greatly for me.
Well, if the significant majority of White women would stop voting for Republicans, we wouldn't need to worry.

But nope, racism first then their body autonomy a distant second.
Martyrdom only works in certain circumstances. This is not one of those circumstances.

Setting himself on fire and subsequently dying will do absolutely nothing for this cause. He would've been able to help more and more meaningful if he was still alive.

More and more, a lot of foolish people are using activism as a substitute for therapy which leads to their activism doing the opposite goal: driving people away from their cause.
