If he has 15-16 and more masters 1000s with a gold medal and a great record against Fed, he's in the conversation if you ask a real tennis fan not blinded by hate.

Not if 90% of them are achieved on clay. It is already a forgone conclusion that Nadal IS the best clay court player of all time (I will not argue with you on that because I firmly agree) just as it is now a forgone conclusion that Roger Federer IS the greatest tennis player of all time. For the love of god, the man is still breaking records at 31.

Seriously Nadal fans/fan, do you honestly think Nadal is comparable with Federer besides his dominance on clay? Be real honest here. Hell, even the H2H which is basically the bread and butter of Nadal's resume benefits majorly from the fact that most of the wins were on clay. It is no secret that Federer has major match-up issues with Nadal on any court but the old man still enjoys a combined 8-6 H2H on Hard and Grass courts.

Seriously. Just take a real close look at the H2H

Hard Court: Federer 6-5 Nadal
Grass Court: Federer 2-1 Nadal
Clay Court: Federer 2-12 Nadal
Grand Slams: Federer 2-8 Nadal (5 of them were won by Nadal on 'clay')

So lets say Federer and Nadal played 14 times on grass or hard instead of clay. Do you honestly think Nadal would have won 12 out of 14 times there.

Nadal has a LONG LONG LOOOONG way to go before he is even in the argument of the GOAT title. For starters, he needs to win more titles on courts besides clay (Just so you know more than 70% of his titles are on clay) He has to win a WTF title for a change, already 6 behind Federer. He then has to sustain the No.1 ranking for more weeks than Federer (very very unlikely). There are many unbreakable Federer records that Nadal can even dream (some literally impossible) of so no Nadal will probably never be the GOAT. Sorry.

Nadal might come close to Federer's slam total after winning like 10 French Opens but if he really wants the GOAT title, he has to assert his dominance on surfaces not called red.

What. a. sensational. match.
A shorter version of the A012 final no doubt. It definitely had more substance and finesse but less drama.

I feel for Murray. I really do. In all honesty Murray is my second least favorite from the big 4 (still a huge gap between him and Nadal) but this was the one time I didn't really mind someone upsetting Federer in the final of a GS.
I really hope he gets another shot at a major final and wins it the next time. No one deserves such heartbreak. No one. Hats off to you Murray. You've earned my respect.

But on the other hand, what a joyous day this is for tennis. The king is finally back on top, now as the undisuted GOAT of tennis. And at the age of 31.

The moment Federer won the 2nd set I knew we were in for something special and thats exactly when 'God-Mode' Federer showed up and totally bested a very spot-on Murray.

But looking at the bigger picture, the quality of this match was simply ridiculous. Long exquisite rallies, amazing retrievals (on grass), insane angles, merciless attacking tennis (from Federer).

Here's to hoping the old man wins the singles Olympic Gold Medal and Murray wins the USO 2012.

Oh man. Djoks vs Fed in less than 2 hours. Lets hope the old man doesn't job as badly as he did in the FO.

Key to win the match

Federer: Serve, more winners than unforced errors, 2006-2008 like god mode
Djokovic: Low unforced errors count, doesn't revert to the usual 2012 form, Federer doesn't go god mode.

Not until MGS4. Wait could be the another guy. If the guy at the torture room is the same one guarding Meryl's cell then yeah. Funny how I always kill him while escaping the cell but yeah he's a pretty important character in MGS4.

God! Who actually likes Serena Williams. She's like one of those fat chicks who actually thinks they are hot just cause they are hanging out with the 'real' hot chicks. In Serena's case, her number of GS and her disgusting outfits.

I will go so far as to say I dislike Serena way way way more than Nadal. In Nadal's case, It is no secret that I don't like him but deep down I still do respect him because he IS the greatest clay court player to have ever stepped foot on the court.
As in Serena's case, I don't like her and I don't respect her either. I don't care how many GS she wins, it will NEVER earn my respect. Hope Radwanska pulls off a miracle in the final so that I don't have to see Serena's ridiculously phony and cringe-worthy victory waves to the crowd.

Last time that happened?: Nadal lost to him 3-6 0-6

Okay, every game I'm interested in playing next (with a one game per series rule), ordered from most wanted to least wanted:

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Final Fantasy VII
Super Metroid
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

(most everything afterwards is tough)

Resident Evil 4
Xenogears
Zone of the Enders
Chrono Trigger
Mega Man X
Assassin's Creed
Portal 2
Okami

Tell me you were born yesterday. *kidding

Finish the entire MGS series first, then have a blast playing through arguably the best game ever made and than the 3rd best side scrolling game and then one of the most overrated yet still fantastic game.

As for RE4, I just cannot see how you've missed this game unless you were hiding under some sort of rock.
CT, MMX and Okami are all fantastic games in their own right. CT is a lil overrated mind you (with its bad SNES era writing, can't blame them).
Portal 2, I haven't played through enough to give it a good judgement. Portal 1 however was fantastic.

Expect a drop of quality once you start your playthrough of Zone of the Enders especially compared to the other games you've mentioned here. Unless you're some sort of a crazy Gundam/Gears fan, the game is excessively average in just about everything. Whiny protagonist, pretty boring story, short, repetitive gameplay is how I'd sum up Z.O.E 1 not to mention an incomplete storyline. Z.O.E 2 is better but not by that much. It is one of the most overlooked yet overrated games I've ever played and I say this as a huge fan of Hideo Kojima's work.

There's a reason why I left Xenogears for last. This is because I just recently finished my 5th playthrough of it.
My first time playing Xenogears, I didn't have a single clue what was going on. Granted I was only a teenager then. It was only after my 2nd playthrough that I had a 70% grasp of the story. The beauty of Xenogears is that you learn something everytime you replay it. So here's how it stands. After playing through it for a fifth time and reading "Perfect Works", I can confidently say that I have about a 98% grasp on the story. And just so you know nothing else quite compares to it. For a while everything else (that is stories in Video Games) will seem insignificant compared to it... trust me.

I wish I were you OP. I wish I can just erase my entire knowledge of the MGS series and start from scrath and experience the magic from scratch.

On a side note: I still think MGS1 is the best in the series. One cannot forget his first time playing MGS1 14 years ago.
I cried all the way throughout MGS4's act 4.

Dragon Quest is a series that rarely if ever defies it's incredibly typical fantasy setting. Almost all of it is in FF1-4 setting, with about half of them lacking even an alternative interesting twist to them (time loop from FF1, taking down a human emperor and all his forces only for him to take control of hell when he's dead in FF2, etc).

I'm sorry but DQ games are pretty differentiable. I do agree with you on the fact that all DQ games follow the tradition of a medieval fantasy setting but the games itself are quite different.

Lets see
DQ1 - Single party member i.e Hero only. Dungeons can only be navigated with a certain item and spell.
DQ2 - Insanely brutal difficulty. Grindy and yes it is pretty generic, I agree here.
DQ3 - This game came out only a year after FF1 yet the class system is MUCH more impressive and the game overall is very polished and entertaining itself.
DQ4 - Suikoden III's Trinity system like approach concerning the story only it was released over a decade before Suikoden III. The main character for each chapter is the only controllable member in battle and the rest are A.I controlled much to the annoyance of many players including myself.
DQ5 - The first DQ game to have a good storyline. Marriage system midway branching out different storyline segments and characters. Monster recruiting system which allows player to use the charismatic DQ monsters found all over the world map in battle.
DQ6 - Return of the DQ challenge in difficulty. People overlook the fact that DQ7's job system is strikingly similar to DQ6. Fantastic story if you pay attention.
DQ7 - Has a reputation for being the longest jRPG and even after playing over hundreds of them I haven't found one quite as long as this. High challenge. Grindy. A little more polished job class than 6's.
DQ8 - The world of DQ brought into 3D for the first time. Insanely huge world. Outstanding VA, visuals, characters and filler segments. One of the best RPGs of the PS2 generation and the very best of DQ IMO.
DQ9 - Won't elaborate because I haven't finished it yet (more than half-way currently)

You should know that DQ isn't a series for everyone because it isn't. Most if not all DQ games require grinding, some can even be brutal (DQ7 and 2 especially). The DQ games are also quite slow because the main plot is usually peaks only during the beginning, midpoint and end-game. And ALL games in the series is riddled with fillers much to the dismay of many.

But for a DQ fan like me the pros outweigh the cons. Battling every new monster is a treat because their anime-like design is very appealing to me. The fantasy-medieval system, the class system, the exploration and even the cliche bad guys just seem very well done somehow.

Even being a huge DQ fan, I'll admit it isn't anywhere near the best RPG series of all time because there are a few below average games namely DQ1, 2 and 4. And it is not a secret that this series isn't for everyone.

If I had been asked this question 10 years ago, I'd have said Final Fantasy in a heartbeat without even taking other great RPG series into consideration. FFXI was the start of all my personal FF woes. Even though FFXII was much better, it failed to capture the magic of the golden FF days (FF7-10, Tactics included) or even the great FF days (FF4-6). As for FFXIII, it is an okay jRPG which is unacceptable for a series of FF's calibre. FFXIV IMO is easily the worst mainline FF game I've ever played. Granted, I didn't play it more than a couple of hours but the bad reviews and the sheer boredom made me quit the game prematurely. I'd like to give it a proper chance in the future because afterall it is a FF.

On topic. I have quite a few favorite RPG series so I'll try and get into detail with all of them.

01 - Final Fantasy (7 > 8 > 10 > 9 > Tactics > 6 > 4 > 5 > 3 > 1 > 12 > 13 > 2 > 11 > 14)
Even though FF is going through some serious rough patch, I just cannot ignore its glory days which is why it is STILL my favorite RPG series. Personally I think the run from FF7, Tactics (Its so good that I include it as a mainline FF game) 8, 9, 10 are not just the pinnacle of the series but the pinnacle of gaming itself. FF4-6 are also all magnificent titles (especially 6).
[First game: Final Fantasy IV]

02 - Shin Megami Tensei: Persona (4 > 3 > 2:IS > 2:EP > 1)
I'm gonna include Persona as its own separate series from the mainline SMT series here. The quality since P3 is just astounding and honestly these two killer entries (P4 and P3) are enough to make it one of my favorite RPG series. P4 is honestly the best jRPG I've played since FF10 and IMO it is just as good as FF10 but in a different way.
[First game: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 (Vanilla)]

03 - Suikoden (2 > 5 > 1 > 3 > 4)
I would have given Suikoden the second place if it weren't for number 4. Suikoden II is almost on par with even the PS1 era FF games and V is one of my favorite games from the PS2 generation.
[First game: Suikoden]

Other honorable mentions

04 - Kingdom Hearts (2 > 1 > COM) [First: 1]
05 - Tales (Symphonia > Vesperia > Abyss > Phantasia > Eternia > Legendia > Destiny) [First: Phantasia]
06 - Dragon Quest (8 > 9 > 5 > 3 > 7 > 6 > 4 > 1 > 2) [First: 3]

Well if you really do hate Pokemon for its insane number of rehashes, then I don't blame you. Hating on Pokemon for the wrong reasons (and trust me you'll be surprised how many people hate on the game without even playing it just to be 'cool' on the internet, kinda similar to FF7 haters) however is just pathetic.
Off topic, I assume you don't like Mega Man either.
It is no secret that Pokemon literally takes no effort to be creative anymore but still the first Pokemon game remains one of the best handheld games of all time. Calling Pokemon Red, Blue or Yellow a bad game just shows your poor taste in gaming.

I wouldn't consider myself a fan of Pokemon (why? because the best Pokemon game can barely make it into my Top 50) but I can't deny I enjoyed the first two games a lot.

You're completely missing the point here.

Ah, so, in order to have fun with a game, I have to ignore the fact that makes it not worth playing. Gotcha.

What?

It's not like there are 5 games in the world and pokemon is one of them. I can play countless games, and shame on me if I choose to buy and play the same game many times instead of the many awesome new games out there that are actually original and will offer me experiences I have not been through before.

No offence but I really don't care about your gaming preferences, Superman 64 can be your favorite game for all I care. However I do care about why you think playing Pokemon as an adult holds any shame?
So tell me. What exactly is so horrible about Pokemon?
Please. I'd like to hear a detailed explanation to see how much legitimacy your posts have.
Otherwise you're just another deluded person on the internet who thinks hating on games which have kiddish artstyle instantly makes you cool when in reality you're a submissive person with low self esteem.

xfd @ those who chose the last option.

Ignorance.

I can understand people who are tired of Pokemon's same old same old formula but in all fairness, Pokemon Gold/Silver and especially Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow were outstanding games for its time. Even the new ones are fun to play if you discount the fact that they are the same thing with better graphics.

xfd @ those who didn't choose to vote without playing Pokemon at all or beyond the first few hours and thinks hating Pokemon is retro.

But looking at the poll options again. Playing Pokemon as an adult is no shame. Hiding the fact however is. It just shows your insecurity.

The poll itself is full of ignorant options. I'm pretty sure everyone has done atleast a little of everything except the 4th option which is the only legit one and maybe the 2nd.

MGS1 and MGS4 too low. Good to see Parasite Eve on the list.

Bonus Question: What is your favorite series that was introduced last generation (PS2/Xbox/GameCube)?

I'd like to think Persona 3 invented a whole new series because 1 and 2 feels way too different and inferior. So even if it isn't the best that was introduced last generation, it certainly is the most improved.
Persona 4 ranks in my top 3 beyond the year 2000 along with Resident Evil 4 and FF10.

On topic, Star Wars: KOTOR, Ratchet & Clank, Jak, Prince of Persia: SoT Trilogy, Disgaea, Onimusha.
Can't choose one

^ Those games are classics and probably the greatest of their time but it doesn't mean they are comparable to games of today's standards.

That one follow the train mission is one of the easiest missions and I don't understand why it's widely known as a really hard mission. The very next mission after that one is tough sometimes. (that one where Smoke drives the bike and you shoot the guys tailing you throughout the drainage ditches or whatever those are.

I found the train mission really easy as well and the next mission on the bike a bit more difficult (although I wouldn't call it one of the tougher missions).
Flight school however was pretty tough for a storyline mission and I'd probably call it the toughest one (storyline-mission-wise). Rockstar shouldn't have forced the later missions of the Flight school to be mandatory because some of them are ****ing annoying. And I know quite a number of people who have given up on SA after failing and failing at the FS.

I actually don't remember if I did vote actually, do you have that information anywhere?

Wow. I didn't think about that. I mean no. I didn't keep a record of who voted in which games.
Well go ahead, I'm bending the rules just this once because some of the games didn't receive enough votes.

Go ahead. But try and justify your answer if you rate a game very low.

Whew. Beat it second time with about 1/100 fuel left. Never attempting this mission EVER again. Unlocking Zero's awesome third mission is worth it though.

also I gave up and came back to it after I had done flight school. Not sure if that actually helps or if it's just psychological, but I did it first or second time after that

I think flight school does make it easier because by then you'll actually be good at controlling a plane. The RC plane controls like **** and getting used to it isn't exactly easy.

If there is ever a mission like this in GTA V, I'm sue-ing Rockstar.

^ Everything's just too big in Galaga which results in so many cheap deaths. If it werent for the bonus rounds, Galaga would be just another Space Invaders type game.
Play the fast version of Galaxian. So good.

Galaga (MSX version)
6.3

I'm one who prefers Galaxian a whole lot compared to Galaga. The controls are a little stiff (every version mind you) but the bonus rounds are quite fun. Nothing too special and has aged as poorly as the original Space Invaders.

^ Well. In the GH's version, your RC Baron Plane's fuel doesn't run out if you don't press the X or Square button. You can simply glide to the targets w/o using any fuel.
The original black label version doesn't have that luxury, your fuel runs out no matter what making this mission almost impossible to beat.

People who played the Greatest Hits Version, stay away from the topic.

Zero's 2nd mission. The one where you controlled an RC Baron plane

I beat that mission once (got extremely lucky) but can't do it again for the life of me.

Supply Lines > Battletoads in terms of difficulty. Nah I'm kidding

TopicTop 5 series that are consistently good?
Axl_Rose_85

Top 5 (In terms of consistency)
01. Metal Gear
02. Resident Evil
03. The Legend of Zelda
04. Uncharted
05. Ratchet & Clank

Top 5 (series bomber included in ( ))
01. Final Fantasy (2, 11, 13, 14 and 12 are all below par in terms of FF quality)
02. Metal Gear (none)
03. Resident Evil (none but needs new ideas)
04. Suikoden (4 bombed mercilessly, otherwise Suikoden would be in the top 5 in terms of consistency)
05. Persona (1 - almost unplayable, 2 - incomparable to P3 and P4, anyone saying otherwise is just fooling themselves)

Top 5 series run to the ground
01. Spyro the Dragon (Insomniac's sacrificial goat or rather sheep for R&C)
02. Crash Bandicoot (Naughty Dog's sacrificial goat for Jak and eventually Uncharted)
03. Mega Man (No new innovations, merely average and beaten to death mechanics)
04. Mana Series (Haven't played even a decent Mana game since Legend of Mana)
05. Final Fantasy (What was once the undisputed best series in video games is fiddling with mediocrity (FF11,13 and 14) and merely 'good' games (FF12)

- FF6-FF10 is what I'd call the highest point in not just the series but gaming itself.
- Ever since Metal Gear turned Metal Gear Solid, the series has all produced atleast 9/10 games
- Most improved series: Resident Evil after the release of the 4th installment
- Undisputed best JRPGs after FF10, SMT: Persona 4 followed by Persona 3
- IMO only 2 Zelda games have reached the heights of best game ever material: Skyward Sword and Majora's Mask.
- Uncharted is this generation's most consistent series IMO
- Ratchet & Clank may be Sony's most consistent series if you exclude the horrible Size Matters on PSP

How the f*** do you have that many games and why does your uncle buy you 30 for a present?

He's like one of the most successful business men in my country, so he's loaded and besides he loves games as well (although his choices are questionable) and he's only 8 years older than me. So yeah.

Also, did you mean Super Paper Mario?

Oh sorry, mixed PM:TYD with the GC list. As a matter of fact I don't have Super Paper Mario. I heard it wasn't even an RPG this time.

Fatal Frame 4 - got a fan translation though

I really really wanna play this game. Is it Wii exclusive? And how do you get a fan translated copy?
