Oh, so the answer to the riddle is 'just' a room on the island with all the gold just sitting in there? I thought there'd be a bit more to it. Earlier I asked if it was possible to figure the riddle out when you first see it. Turns out it IS impossible because it requires knowledge of the island we (at least up to now) don't have. Even now, I don't actually know the real solution, I was shown where it goes.

That's where it leads you, but the riddle of the epitaph doesn't directly have anything to do with the layout of the island. It's possible to work out as of the start of this episode. Though one major part of it is particularly difficult to work out.

I hope you truck through it. It's hard to get into EP2 but that is all frontloaded. That's part of the problem, obviously, but it also means that once you get past the flashback section there's not a lot of air afterward, less than in episode 1. Episode 2 is actually the shortest episode by length, which I found interesting when I saw someone posting it.

I just played through the final dungeon in FF13 and it sucked especially. It was just a bunch of blocks with no structure, flashing lights, and weird stuff happening. I didn't mind the fights itself, but the dungeon was annoying to look at and move through. It was pretty emblematic of the game as a whole though.

I think I was mostly amused by Millium even when she first shows up, but I realize she hits a number of character traits that tend to bother people and leaves a bad impression. I can appreciate smashing your enemies with a giant hammer though.

I missed boss talk, but I have to say still that I think P5's bosses are almost all better than P3's or P4's. I play on Hard for a first run generally and the bosses didn't get easy until Palace 6 on. I think all of the ones before that managed to kill me at least once. That's a significantly better lifespan than P3 or P4. I was playing the remakes of those, admittedly, but I'm not sure I can remember any bosses in those games that were very likely to kill me, except a few of the early Tartarus bosses.

Also did this game seem insanely unbalanced to anyone else? Town got FIVE scum lynched in a row, and the 6th after only 1 ML. How did it still. Yes we had 2 modkills (holy s*** MI sucks) but only 1 of those was an extra kill.

Because they... played badly?

That's the way Mafia math works. Town can't get ahead of scum, it can only stay at parity or fall behind. No matter how well they do at first, they still can't repeatedly mislynch after that.

I replaced out because I was busy! I am pretty confident I would not have done nearly as good a job as Zach did, too. Though I imagine scum can't possibly win without Zam modkilling himself.

That D1 was such a disaster, with scum eating themselves alive. Very lucky that the others came back from that.

At Vegas. GP is fun thus far, lost a beta draft qualifier very badly but split prizes in a chaos draft, which was cool. Sometimes you just wanna draft 2 drops and combat tricks and auras and kill people, and the draft cooperated.

I also learned the best and worst feelings in a single game of Magic. The best feeling is when your opponent, who is handily stomping you, unnecessarily swings out without doing the math and leaves themself dead to a removal spell on the crackback. The worst feeling is when they were sandbagging Vicious Offering to get out of it and don't get punished for it.

There are a few things that matter regarding field attacks, but one of the more important factors for me was using a character with good values in their weapon damage types. That will make sure you get triple advantage encounters when stunning instead of just double advantage. Laura is your best choice at the moment for that reason as well, as she has A rank in 2 types. A few characters have a high rank in 3 different types, meaning they almost always get triple advantage; I tended to keep them in my party and controlled them exclusively whenever they were available.

I never really understood why they got rid of Masterpieces. They got panned initially as a gimmick to sell boxes, and it's not good as a primary source of reprints, but most people I talked to came around on it when it drove Standard prices down. Plus they just look sweet.

They said it was because they couldn't keep up good themes when done consistently, I still expected them once every few sets. And if A25 and Dominaria weren't the sets to bring them back, what are?

Yeah I dunno. They said they weren't getting rid of them, just using them more sparingly, but then they weren't in Dominaria when that was the ideal place for them. The invocations from Amonkhet were poorly thought out, but the masterpieces should have a lot more life in them despite that.

EDIT: As far as Reserve List goes, it's highly dubious that there would actually be a legal issue in abolishing the reserve list. It seems to be more of a trust issue, protecting the price of certain cards to make them safe investments. Whether that is desirable or not... Well, it isn't desirable, but Wizards thinks differently.

Puns's claim just kinda has too many moving parts to be believable? Rather than trying to poke holes in it specifically, it's more like... why does that role need to exist like that? Blue Badger isn't really an iconic flavor that needs to be captured in detail.

So I've been skimming. Nana claimed a one-shot vig of Dhurke. Puns claimed a BP and 1-shot prosty of Blue Badger. This is clearly weird in a lot of ways. Han is hinting dayvig maybe probably just trolling though. Is this about it?

Not a fan of the 11pm my-time starts. Oh well.

So I was wrong on Chris. I thought it was a scum-scum lynch. However, I was satisfied with Deadpool's lynch, it was still a close #2 for me. I voted him early and thought his posts later on were pretty poor, and tried to call attention to them. So I don't think I was that far off.

I see eaed decided to join the game. His posts... actually look pretty good to me. He did seem to hit the game running, which I appreciate.

Han's attempts to splinter the vote onto Shad and me, and then a last-minute vote onto Prof in a way that wasn't clearly decisive for the vote looks bad. His attitude towards prof was also very detached, in a kind of half-bussed way.

I think Zam is still likely to be town due to Deadpool's voting of him and sticking on him for so long. Will take some time to look over those voters as well as my misguided fellow Chris supporters. I'll be at work all day but I'll be following the topic and can probably sneak in some analysis.
