I think the version I had gave it "Whenever a creature dealt damage by this creature this turn dies, this creature fights another target creature." until end of turn, then had it fight another target creature, or something like that. Stick a 'may' on there and it should work. My card was rare though since there are some shenanigans you can get into.

If it's like Trails I wouldn't force yourself to try and keep up with all of them. Unless you want to of course--it's a major reason why a lot of people like their games.

But basically in the Trails series every NPC has substantial dialogue that updates every or nearly every time you do something to advance the plot. There's a subset of fans who will tell you to talk to every NPC whenever that happens, but personally I find it's really easy to get burned out trying to do that religiously. (Although I do encourage talking to NPC's frequently at least)

I have no idea how much if any of that is applicable to Tokyo Xanadu, but I'll let someone else who's played both series comment if there's any major differences between the two in this regard.

The style of this and ToCS is nearly identical, so yes, it is applicable.

Can you even do that on a first run? Since you have limited affinity shards anyway. You can't in ToCS. If that's the case I think playing blind is a lot better. If you like it enough to replay and try to max everything out, then sure, use a guide for that run, but it's not worth it for the first time through.

Not sure if you have map travel yet but as far as I know anyone with a portrait in the map has bonding events, though not necessarily in that chapter.

One thing you might not know about Falcom games is that there are about a million named characters that would normally just be background, like Karen who you mentioned.

I waver between Episode 5 and 7 being the best. 5 has the best climax of any episode and large amounts of Erika who I am a massive fan of, but Episode 7 is kind of 'what Umineko is all about' and I have to give it some recognition for that. It's pretty great altogether though and I never had any problems with how it wrapped up.

Can't comment on Wolf's Rain, but Brotherhood tells a complete story. It skips through early chapters of the manga, but at that time the story hadn't been set and so those chapters are mostly filler. You're fine just watching that, and it would be my recommendation.

I like Steins;Gate a lot. It's one of three VNs to get a 10 from me on VNDB. It helps that I was fond of Okabe the whole way through. I also saw the anime first which colored my expectations a good amount.

My answer to the bonus question is probably Persona 4, which is also my favorite game. A lot of my favorite games do have multiple endings though.

I have 8 designs I like, but I just noticed that I'm trying to make an enchantment but I already have a WB enchantment and have WU, UB, and BG open, which is forcing me to go back and look for weaker designs I have to eliminate or ones I can move into other colors.

Junpei is great in Persona 3, I really think his interactions with the party work really well, and his character development is probably the best executed of all of the cast. Yosuke is a fine character but he's a fine character among a great cast, whereas Junpei is a great character among a fine cast.

I might not remember the game that well, but I don't think she was ever particularly opposed to working with Laphicet or Eizen when she joined up or treated them badly? That seems to suggest she was not bigoted like you claim. It's been a year since I played it, but I never felt like she had a particularly strong view about the malaks being tools. It was just something the church told her that didn't carry over into actual practice. EDIT: As opposed to Oscar and Teresa who definitely do act in the way you describe.

And she was clearly not willing to do anything because Artorius said so. Rather, it's because Artorius told her to do things she wasn't willing to do that she broke away from him!

Just came in to say AAI2's Justine Courtney is one of the worst AA characters and by far the worst rival character in the series. I'm playing the beginning of case 4 and she has been such a terrible all-round character since her introduction that she is actually starting to get under my skin. If the developers were trying to make her a hateable character, then good freaking job but somehow I don't think it was their intention.

Debeste is great though. He's been the funniest thing going on in the game so far.

But seriously. Justine Courtney is just the worst. Such a terrible character.

I wish you wouldn't perpetuate the misconception of 'character I don't like' = 'bad character'. It makes discussion difficult.

I heard that argument before and thought it was pretty sensible. The question shouldn't require you to be evaluating the most balanced choice based on the wording. I did think adding a new ability made sense as a specifically design oriented change. That's why I need to hear the real explanation.

Thinking about the artifact matters question again, my issue with it is basically that I think the answers might be badly chosen. The structure of the problem is fundamentally that there are five answers that all have a hidden probability to them and that you have to determine which one has the greatest. I think that to make that work, you'd either want it so one answer will happen 100% of the time and the others have less than 100%, or you'd want four answers to happen 0% of the time and the other to have more than 0%.

But I don't think either applies here. You end up having to estimate kind of off the cuff and hope you share the questioner's estimation. If you're choosing between like 80% and 50% and 30% it's kind of hard to make those distinctions unless your thought process is very close to the questioner's.

So either the question is really high-level, there's something I missed, or it was stupid.

The only one I'm really interested in is the UR artifact matters question about how they would change it, because I've never seen anything close to an ironclad answer. I don't think it's strange to have it use a fixed number but I also don't see why that's more compelling than really anything else.
