What exactly do you mean by 5% ARPG and 95% MMO? I felt the opposite - though there is an abundance of collectible systems or something with constant "reward" claims all the time, which I think is more like mobile games than MMO's. It feels targeted and not as pointless and empty as I feel mobile games make that stuff.

I dunno about that PSO2 recommendation.... that's the worst game in that regard I've ever played. I basically felt like I was playing a meter filling simulator. New World wasn't as bad as base PSO2 but didn't have anything to do besides run around and do active time events.

that said it seems like anything and everything is playable and fine

Figuring out how to best use the the main bow attack should probably just come from your own experimentation with hitting the sweet spot and what boons work well with it

But if you want a less obvious tip: The special volley attack that shoots lots of arrows can all hit the same guy and "shotgun" him, which can work really with some boons.

Yeah I think trying to just tank something towards the end of ARR / another expansion will lead to trouble so I want to start off tanking the simplest stuff. I might even try out some guild leves lmao. Does anybody actually do those?

You can't really go wrong with any of them. Meta isn't going to matter while you're leveling (in fact it barely matters at endgame too), and Dark Knight has one of the best Job stories in the game, too (written by the lead ShB/EW writer).

Also things are likely to get buffed/nerfed in less than a week when Savage and the balance patch hit anyway.

Why? It's not like I'll be holding their hands running around with them the whole way in the open world. I already tried that with Gladiator with another friend that was playing Gladiator and even playing the same class as him it didn't feel like we were playing cooperatively at all - he's doing MSQ stuff that leads into cutscenes while I'm running circles around him trying to do sidequests. I gave up at like level 10-15

I'm pretty much just expecting to do some dungeons which DRK and GNB should be able to just scale down to? And then run circles around them in the open world with my high level classes to show off my outfits

What's a good tank to begin with? Might have some friends starting the MSQ soon so I might pick a tank to play with them and learn early dungeons with. I was leaning Dark Knight because EDGY but apparently its not that good except for DPS and has no self sustain, which is a good feature for a tank to have. Apparently Warriors are amazing at that?

i thought the show was pretty decent but the finale was just straight up bad TV. There's lots of "book reader" reasons to be upset people are posting about but I mostly don't mind if it makes for a better show. but that wasn't a good show.

Anyways, my question - What do people think about the 3D remakes of the early final fantasies? I was thinking about trying them. I haven't played much of the 2d ones except FFIV which I love. I saw on steam i can buy a regular FFIV and a 3D FFIV

....the 3D FFIV looks awful from what I see, so I'm leaning towards buying the 2d versions, but maybe its better than I expect. I think the 1-6 bundle is the 2d versions?

Any time a character starts walking around in a voice acted custcenes, I hear their footsteps. And it always sounds like they have soaked shoes making squishy noises

Does anybody know why character footsteps in cutscenes are so squishy

it's the most distracting thing in the world but I don't see posts about it online so either this might be rare or somehow everybody else loves that sound

Maybe some day I'll go back and try this. I've been trying FFXIV and loving it and I have a buddy who always reminisces about the glory days of FFXI. I'm sure it'll be an awful experience in some ways but neat in some others.

I've been playing universally acclaimed story driven single player FFXIV for awhile and completely love it.

did the login servers just die? I just happened to get home and try logging in and it wasn't accepting my OTP password. I was wondering if my accounts been hacked or something so I tried going to mog station and that was saying wrong passwrd - now it just says there's an error and won't show me the login screen. I thought I must have really fucked up but now on reddit it looks like everyones having this issue?
